I suspect that this isn’t the end of it. She has more up her sleeve. She is smarter than you and me put together.
Nancy Pelosi ripping up the speech was everything! That’s this year’s meme.
So tomorrow (or today, depending on your time zone), Trump tears up the Articles of Impeachment, declaring “I win.”
And the Democrats run ads showing the Arab League tearing up Trump(and Jared!)'s unanimously rejected peace plan. And the wind tearing down the wall. And Trump government officials tearing children way from parents.
Trump and the GOP have no high road here.
Thanks, Nancy, for bringing us all Salongate. Your timing was impeccable.
I mean, there is nothing so trite that Fox News and the right wing won’t try to blow out of proportion, but why did you hair have to be part of it? You brought this one on yourself, you careless fucking idiot. Good job. Much appreciated.
As Snowboarder Bo would say, “Aye!”
Yeah, Nancy got socked this time.
The salon owner (who isn’t the person who did her hair) is partly responsible. Supposedly she was aware of the appointment a day or two before it occurred and didn’t put a stop to it. And then she released footage to Fox News.
It wasn’t the salon owner’s job to prevent Pelosi from being an idiot. Nor was she responsible for Pelosi swanning around without her mask while the employees were wearing theirs.
Nancy screwed the pooch. Let’s just all call it out and not try to qualify it any further.
It’s the salon owner’s responsibility to be familiar with the current rules surrounding reopening of hair salons and barbershops, given the situation is rapidly changing. (I believe a day later, the appointment would have been allowed.) She should have stepped in and told the stylist who rents the chair that the appointment would violate the rules, or call the customer to let them know. Instead she let the appointment go forward and then gave the security camera footage to Fox News. That does not sound like a business owner looking out for the interests of her customer but instead someone setting someone up.
Oh, FFS.
Well, that’s a well thought-out and reasoned argument.
I don’t think this will move the needle one bit. Fox News? Their viewers already are committed to the anti-Nancy camp. No one else is really paying attention.
Of course. But why give the grimy little fucks the satisfaction?
Sorry, but Quicksilver is absolutely right on this one. I’m a fan of Nancy, but she fucked up here.
How about some personal responsibility on behalf of Pelosi? And don’t let me hear you say that it goes without saying. It needed saying.
Me too. That’s why I feel so let down by her and those who would rather make excuses and shift blame.
Did you notice that I said the salon owner was “partly responsible”? I agree that Pelosi was stupid for allowing herself to be manipulated like that. But the salon owner could have and should have prevented the situation from occurring. And I’ll bet that her involvement in this event isn’t going to win her many customers in Pelosi’s district and it will probably lose her some of her customer base.
I noticed. Which is exactly what I was expecting people would say. Which is completely besides the fucking point.
Pelosi is a seasoned politician. She knows what’s at stake. She understands the optics of what happens when she doesn’t practice what she preaches and what she admonishes the petulant orange child about. She has to show a bright contrast between the constituency that she represents and the MAGATS. She failed in this instance. Demostrably.
Why can’t you just admit that it was her fault 100%? Which it was. 100%.
Why equivocate and shift blame and distract from the facts of the matter with some irrelevant speculation about what may or may not befall the salon owner? It can’t possibly make you feel better, can it?
Seriously. I’m starting to feel like my side of the political spectrum has a serious problem with denial, delusion and hypocrisy.
ETA: I don’t even give that big of a fuck that Pelosi screwed up. She made a mistake. One she should have known better than to make, but w/e. I care a little more that she said that she was the victim of a… what did she call it?.. a trap?.. a set-up? Seriously? Fuck off, Nancy. Nobody made you take your mask off. Shame on you for even trying that bullshit.
What really sends me up is fellow progressives trying to argue that anybody but Pelosi was responsible for her own actions. Fuck that noise.
