The new Arby's commercial that mentions "your therapy peacock" made me crack up!

See it here.

I was only half listening until I heard the announcer say “But since you can’t bring your therapy peacock on the plane…” Then I lost it.

Saw that last night. It’s pretty funny

I was wondering who the voice-over was then I looked to the right. Ving Rhames. Ah.

I wonder how the person who really had the “therapy peacock” feels? Her friends are calling her - “Hey! they mentioned you in an Arby’s commercial!”

It makes her just want to scream.

I think the site the OP links must be overloaded-- It’s stuck on the first frame of the commercial, for me.

Arby’s has a miami cuban sandwich now? I’m going to try that.

I tried it a few days ago. I was disappointed.

Maybe they don’t use real Cubans.

For the longest time it didn’t click with me that Ving Rhames was the voice behind the Arby’s commercials. Then one day I heard the same voice on an ADT Home Security ad and looked up and “Holy crap! It’s Ving Rhames!”

I haven’t seen the peacock ad yet… I’ll have to keep an eye out for that one.

He sounds like James Earl Jones to me.

Considering she was a performance artist who clearly pulled the stunt solely to get publicity, she’s probably thrilled.

Should I have heard of Ving Rhames?

Only if you’ve gone to the movies. Ever. Seriously, even if the name of the actor doesn’t ring a bell, the odds of you never having seen him in something are quite low.

Hm. Out of those 129 credited acting roles, I’ve seen two–Pulp Fiction and Lilo & Stitch. (I may have seen some of his ER episodes.)

So you’re supporting my point.

There are lots of actors in quarter-century-old movies that I couldn’t name.

Ving Rhames also did a series of Radio Shack commercials with Vanessa Williams, IIRC.

Time to run out and pick up some Arby’s; fortunately, there’s one right near where I work - oh, wait, it’s shut down (and was briefly taken over by a local deli that tried to turn it into its own version of Arby’s, but that shut down as well). Well, there’s another on my way home from work - no, that one’s also shuttered. Here’s one that’s a few miles out of the way of my commute - what do you mean, it’s on an air force base? There are none that I can access within 50 miles of where I live or work…

Better, ever since she got the therapy emu.
