yep - it is the time of the season for clementines, the bestest oranges evah! The skin peels off like it is barely on, no seeds, consistent sweetness. Oh man - I buy 'em by the crate.

Oh, they must not have made it to Michigan yet–I haven’t spotted them in the store. But I know the time is approaching. They’re like candy. Candy with a pain-in-the-ass wrapping. Although actually the peel comes off like a dream.
Okay, you’ve convinced me. If some of my favoritest Dopers love 'em, they must be worth it.

Okay, so maybe I don’t qualify here - I assume you are offering praise to BiblioCat and Cranky - but since I started this thread, I am pulling for an honorable mention! Just think, we got you to try Nature’s equivalent of Starbursts!
And, yes, the crates are cool - my 4-year-old was very excited to carry the crate of the first clementines of the season until he got about as far as the bread aisle, then he said “Daddy - this is too heavy!” - oh well, I’ll put him to work soon enough, right?
They made it to da UP. Spotted 'em in the grocery store over the weekend.
Of course, I’m probably the only person in the world who thinks that they’re overpriced and tasteless. Give me a Tangelo any day!
I was always more of a Mandarin girl. Clementines seem too sour to me. I hope I’ll be able to get them here.
These are a new thing for me, I’m more a CA giant navel orange kinda gal, but clementines are the next best thing! I almost bought tangerines last week, but caught my self and said “no, the crates will be appearing soon.” Tangerines are so hit or miss … and all those dang seeds.
