The new gen X-Box

Halo2’s ending pretty much screamed “sequel”, and the game made a ton of money, so Halo3 has just got to be at some stage of development. Scuttlebut is H2 wasn’t supposed to end the way it did, and the Bungie folks just ran out of time. Hence the rather abrubt and, quite frankly, unsatisfyingly unresolved feeling of campaign. There have been rumors about at “Halo2.5”, being just a recompiled Halo2 with the abandoned content retrofitted to it, but I kinda doubt that. Anyway, a good sized chunk of the team responsible for developing Halo and Halo2 have left Bungie, so whatever comes next automatically will lack a certain degree of continuity. Besides, what is likely to be the flagship game for the 360 simply must take full advantage of its rather monstrous iron, and that’s gonna be a much bigger project than just porting the old engine (if that is even possible). My guess is it could be a while, maybe a year or two, but Halo3 is inevitable.

Who wants to trade a perfectly good soul for a new X-box?

You guys liked the Spike Video Game Awards, didn’t you.

On the various boards , most people are saying that its probably going to be released at the same time that the PS3 is released , just to steal some thunder and what not.
