Something like that was easy to see coming even before the election [P&E thread “Why Trump running for President” Oct 2024]:

I’m sure Trump would have no problem changing the first line of the Pledge of Allegiance from “I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America” to “I pledge allegiance to the President of the United States of America” (as long as he’s the President).

ETA: If the pledge change was a story in The Onion that people thought was true, I’m sure his supporters would bend over backwards to defend it.
