The noodge Sampiro to write his damn book already thread

I’m unaware of his stories. Can someone provide a link to a particular one?

Thanks.

It’s legit to post here the link to Amazon when it gets published, right? Because I am SO going to buy it!

Let me know if you need a translator to Spanish

Here’s one:

Very nice! You’ve got a terrific basis there for a sand and grovel company.
With thanks and apologies to Carol Burnett.

Yeah, but she’s always pissed off about something:wink:

Please, please, please- what can we do int he way of bribery?

Oh yes, please, I love your writing!

Ninthed. I would buy it.

Book name!

Thank you.

Well, it seems like this thread is tailor-made for something I need to address.

Sampiro, I’ve read your posts for years (much longer than my sign-up date indicates), and I wanted to tell you how much I enjoy them. I’d be reading a long post, enjoying it greatly, and look up to see who wrote it. A surprising number of times, it was one of yours. I’ve now come to the point where I can tell your writing without looking for the name. It’s not just the stories: No matter the subject matter, you bring style and wit to it.

When I found out I’d be getting posting privileges again, I knew this was a post I had to make, and the opportunity arrived sooner than I expected. I have to add my voice to the others: if you have a book in you, let it out!

Same here.

Come on, Sampiro, do it for your loyal fans. If you do, I’ll…give you $500 in Monopoly money.

Chiming in!

And I’ll gladly send you ONE THOUSAND doll-hairs!

Sampiro! Dude!
I just wanted to agree with people that you should publish. That’s just an opinion, and not a nudge. I’m sure you will get around to doing it sometime. I’m also not sure if you are even reading this thread. I mean it would be kind of weird to read a “Go me!” thread, so I’m imagining you might not be reading. Or if you were me you’d be reading but never admit that you were <sigh>
OK But anyway I have read many many of your threads and yes I’ve been lurking since way back. I always wanted to ask you something. How does your sister feel about all of the things you and your mother had to abandon in the yard when you were forced out of the house? I remember what you reported as her reaction to the property going out of the family and just wondered what she thought of all those things being lost in the exodous. Also At the time you were evicted did she know that you and your mom were right on the edge of being homeless? It has just always seemed very odd that neither your brother nor sister made an effort to help the two of you when you were going through what seems to me to have been desperate times.

Just a couple of things I’ve wondered about and wasn’t able to ask when I was lurking. Of course if you are not reading this then you won’t answer, Or you might not want to answer here in this thread. You could e-mail me if you like (it’s in my profile). Not that I NEED to know, I’m just curious.

I also can’t believe the dearth of responses to this thread! It’s got to be either the extreme politeness of people not wanting to badger you to write, or a damning condemnation of the state of …oooh… or maybe I missed memo somewhere when you told everyone to back off about the book already…

Post a link? Hell, we should have a whole forum to discuss it!

I was privileged to get drafts of some of his stories by email a couple of years ago. They were every bit as good as the ones he’s posted here.

I’m compiling a list of friends for whom I’ll buy his book. It’s getting pretty long with people I don’t usually buy books for!

Hell, yes! I’d buy one at least, and probably more.

Adding my out of tune voice to the chorus.

I’d buy your book too!

When I’m bored at work, I frequently search for old threads started by Sampiro. Please, please, please, Sampiro, write your book. I’ll buy it, and probably multiple copies!!

Since I have finally registered as a guest (hi, everyone), I would like to take this opportunity to let Sampiro know that my mother is from the small college town in Georgia where he librarian-ed for a while, and that as a half-Southerner one generation removed, I too love his stories and would buy his book (as would my mom). We have a few stories of our own, too!

Lily Mill

Add my voice to this chorus!

Sampiro, can you get Garrison Keillor to narrate the audiobook? Because that would be made of awesome.
