The Nutty-Ass (Ex) Coworker Strikes Again . . . .

Why am I not surprised that someone who could spawn such a crazy tale would be back for more?

Oy.

Are you suggesting that tales of lunatics procreate upstream?

:dubious:

Well, I’m sorry you’re being hassled, auntie em, but crazy formerly missing coworker’s return to these boards just made my whole day.

Couldn’t you simply send the relevant threads to all interested parties and then take a very long vacation yourself?

I’m sorry you’re upset, but think of the entertainment you’re bringing to the SDMB.

I have a few questions (which maybe you can’t answer yet – anyone who knows is welcome to respond).

[ol]
[li]If you’ve been “named as a witness”, will you be subpoened?[/li][li]If you’re a witness for one side, can you also be a witness for the other side?[/li][li]Once you’re officially a witness, are you allowed to talk about the case to people, especially people involved in the case like your boss or coworkers?[/li][li]If the crazy person’s lawyer wants to talk to you before the trial and you don’t want to talk to him/her, do you have to?[/li][li]Can the lawyer for the side that didn’t name you as a witness talk to you before the trial?[/li][/ol]

I can’t believe that Nutcase’s lawyer would want you as a witness once they find out you indeed think she’s a nutcase.

Is expecting an employee to sign in and out, for whatever reason, really discrimination? It doesn’t involve unfair hiring, firing, or pay. It doesn’t create an intolerable work environment. How could any lawyer possibly think there’s a suit here?

auntie em, you won’t believe how tickled I am that the CrazyMissingCoWorker has been resurrected. :stuck_out_tongue:

Is she claiming wrongful termination? Unfortunately, there’s an attorney out there that will take even the most frivolous case hoping that there will be an insurance company that will pay even something to make it all go away.

As a witness, you may be deposed, which is just your statement of the facts under oath. Your company’s lawyers will be there to make sure all the questions are fair and to question you themselves. And, your company’s attorneys are there to help you even if this case actually goes to trial.

I can’t wait for the saga to continue…

I just finished the two previous threads. Wow.

Adding to the other questions that have been asked: did you ever find out where she *really * was when she went missing? Amongst the various and sundry stories that she told, I mean…

koeeoaddi, I’m already kind of worried (now that I’ve calmed down about the whole thing) that it’s not too kosher for me to be posting about this on a public message board (for this reason I have kept some details to myself) . . . I have no idea how these things work.

laina_f, I don’t think this is a lawsuit, but rather a claim filed with the state HR department. I don’t know what kind of compensation she could get out of that, but I think the guy who’s been trying (thus far unsuccessfully) to reach me is not a lawyer, but some sort of investigator. So I don’t know if a subpoena is coming down the pike; he may be able to get what he needs with a phone call (please, God . . . ). My mom seems to think that I HAVE to talk to him, though, so I may as well get it over with. Of course I’d be more than happy to be a witness for the other side, but I don’t know if it’s a matter of first dibs, or what. Maybe the guy who’s calling me is actually supposed to be an impartial party. As I said, though, I have no idea how these things work, so I could be dead-ass wrong about all of this.

Ruby, I don’t know about the wrongful termination. I think she’s probably claiming that she left voluntarily, but that it was because of the discrimination.

And finally, PastAllReason (great user name), no, we never did find anything out. She sent other people to collect her belongings, and refused to talk to my ex-boss even over the phone. So there you go. Not with a bang, but a whimper.

Oh, and P.S. to fessie: Fascinating! It would stand to reason, then, that perhaps some people who are particularly sensitive to smell would be able to detect it, too. I don’t have that gift (which may be a gift in itself).

Down in Arkansas when I visited my great grandparents, the old people would sit around and tell stories. Several of them included bit where people stopped by and were described as smelling of cancer. Which received nods all around. My mom said that nowadays that before it got to that stage, it was likely people would have surgery, but back then, it often got bad enough to smell. There were also tales of dogs sniffing out cancer. Visits to Arkansas were full of tales of death and destruction.

I wonder if you can submit your first two threads as evidence and then just sit home instead of having to get all gussied up for a court date.

Can you link to the first two threads? I don’t recall being around for them, and they should highly entertaining.
Thanks!

See Lute Skywatcher’s post above

Thanks! scrolled right by that one. I’m a wicked smahtie sometimes

The Missing Cow-Orker! She’s baaa-aaaaaaaaaaaack! [/sing-songy]

I mean, uh, sorry, auntie em, that’s terrible. Really. :o

Did she ever get her final paycheck?

Thanks koeeoaddi for alerting me to the resumption of this amazing story. **Aunti em ** those first two threads were among the most fascinating I’ve ever read here, including the day by day suspense at the time as the mystery deepened. I still think theres a movie in all this.

Temporarily back from hiberation (thanks again koee).

I saw Auntie Em and missing coworker in the same thread and the need to open and read it was irresistable.

Yep. He never got to talk to her, but eventually he gave in.

Thanks, Watcher! Gee, who knew that a crazy coworker and a big vagina would prove to be my claims to (SDMB) fame?

At least its not a crazy coworker with a big vagina!

Does crazy ex coworker have a big vagina?

Damn, when I was away I must’ve missed the vagina thread. Anyone for a link?
