Life be good right now.

Supper was very yum! Somehow, a carton of heavenly hash got mixed in with the groceries I bought today. How did that happen???
I have a hankering for strawberry short cake and may just make a trip to get it. Or not. Hmmmmm
Time to crochet… MWAH!
ruble, Outrageous Bingo looks like a hoot!
swampy, I thought Episcopal guilt was using the wrong fork.
Heathenated and got volunteered for hospitality for our upcoming mini- con. I had a really good salad with spring greens, warm goat cheese and berries with raspberry vinaigrette. It was paired with a cherry wheat beer.
Now, breakfasts and lunches are ready for the week. Time for sloth.
Happy Valentine’s day!
It’s still great but not quite the same as it was when that was filmed. Back then it was pretty much just the LGBT community, some family and some really close friends. Rick would always ask all the straight people to stand up (maybe 10-20 out of 250-400) and ask us in a very joking manner how it felt to be in the minority. Everyone there was so much fun and warm that it felt great.
Since that ran its been more a destination with sometimes well over half being straight and a lot of the people being “once and gone” never to be seen again. Some of the regulars we know and love felt too much that some of the guests were there as much to gawk as anything else and fell away. And it sells out in a couple days once the tickets are on sale so some just fell away. And some are just Lutherans at heart and didn’t handle change very well and fell away.
Don’t get me wrong, its still one of the best times you can have in this city. And its making oodles for two great causes. But it was just more our speed when it was less generally famous.
Still cleaning out some odds and ends from the freezer so I can smoke a pig of something soon. Dinner was beef tips and gravy over baked potatoes. The beef was fork-cutting tender and it was much good.
Happy Valentine’s Day, y’all.
Airman’s mother passed away this evening. We went over earlier to visit, and not long after we got home, he got the call. He went back over to help with notifications and such, and I stayed home and made dinner for myself and the sprog. The funeral will probably be Wednesday or Thursday.
What with the situation being what it is, I planned to make dinner at home. (Well, that and I see no reason to wait two hours for a meal I can make at home for half the cost.) Steak, baked NOTs (white for the guys; sweet for me), and green beans. The sprog, being a poopyhead, wanted his green beans plain, but I sauteed mine in some olive oil and garlic. They were pretty good that way. 'Zert, if we make it that far, will be berry shortcake with freshly whipped cream. The mixing bowl and whisk are on the table on the front porch, chilling in the 16-degree cold.
I couldn’t post this morning, all I got was a blank screen. It’s snowing in Durham, according to Hockey Monkey
It’s also the season premier of The Walking Dead.

Sadly I’m working. Unless I win the lottery.
Hugging the Doors Peace to all.
