So looks like I have to work late and miss hockey tomorrow.
Sari, this story reminded me of you.
Spidey, brrrrr. It’s only 26 here. With chance of a Snowpocalypse on Monday.
rosie, buttered scones?
gotti, yeah for working patches!

Got $50 at bingo for being a special bottom and had some spotted dick. In the can.
Don’t ask. This ain’t your Grandma’s bingo.
I have to ask now… Spotted dick I recognize (don’t ask ;)). It’s the other Bingo bits I’m interested in.
The specials at OutRageous Bingo are
Top or Bottom (you must have the top line or the bottom line; I was one of four winners and had the bottom line)
Aim for the Hole (all the spaces around the free space; inside picture frame or round robin)
The Quickie (a cover-all but with just the numbers called and called vary fast)
Cover Your Ass (the normal cover-all)
Hey – this is bingo with drag queens and kings for half-time entertainment. Like I said, not what Grandma probably knew.
You can spot me and the Old Wench at 18 seconds and other spots as well.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 32 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 60 and sunny for the day. Prediction for rain tomorrow has now gone away and it looks like we shall have warmer weather over the next two weeks. This means the annual pine tree orgy will kick off for real I suppose.
Today we shall deheathenate Luterun style and then hang on for The Great Litany as I mentioned yestiddy. N.O.L. shall be beast tips 'n rice, green beans, and baby carrots. Plus cake. YAY CAKE! OYKW wants to go hunt for cheap chawklit this afternoon. I may or may not go with him on the hunt. Since I have tomorrow off, I can venture out and hunt a little myself.
ruble I watched the video. Looks like tons o’ fun! I saw y’all!
OK, I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. I also need to roust OYKW so’s we can begin purtification for deheathenization.
Happy Sunday Y’all! Happy Valentine’s Day!
We have NINE WHOLE DEGREES in our yard at the moment. At least it’s clear and promises to be sunny in a little bit. But BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
I had another bizarre dream last night that took place largely in the neighborhood where I grew up. I don’t get it - I left that home in 1973, and my folks sold it in 1979, making it 37 years since I was even inside the house. The last person I knew who was still living in that neighborhood died some years ago. I haven’t even done a drive-by in more years than I can remember. Yet it keeps popping up in dreams. I’m sure a shrink would have a field day with that.
Amazingly, after sleeping a bit past 6, I got up and showered, dressed, tended to the dog, and scooped the cat box. Go me! No idea how much longer **FCD **will sleep - I was dead to the world when he turned off the TV. Dunno if he’ll want to go to breakfast or not, but in the meantime, I’m caffeinating.
My only plans for today involve emptying the dishwasher (the easy chore) and cleaning Higgs’ crate (the PITA chore.) I need to move the love seat and disassemble the crate, launder all the stuff within, vacuum the whole area, and reassemble everything. I’ll go ahead and vacuum the rest of the house while I’m at it - the carpet is pretty sad-looking. But beyond that, nothing planned. Yet.
Happy Day Before Half-Price Chocolate Day!!!
I’m up early baking sausage balls and also cookies. As I said upthread I volunteered to do after service treats for church. I’m also serving as a chalist. I’ll get to church early enough to bake off the little cheese turnovers there.
Listen to swampy, y’all oughta come and be Episcopalians. As the provost who was doing new member classes said, back when I was received, “Being Episcopalian means you don’t have to check your brains at the door.”
blurf
Not a big fan of the overly hyped holiday misrepresenting the true history of the man it’s named for. But I do like chocolate.
Speaking of proselytizing, there were two zealots of some form or other knocking on doors yesterday. My plan was to put on my tallit and kippa, amd answer the door, “Are you the Shabbes goy? David said he would send a Shabbes goy to make coffee!” Look over my shoulder, “Mabel, it’s not the Shabbes goy!” and close the door.
Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) suggested that if Jews don’t have hell, G-d would make one just for us, so we just didn’t answer the door.
I had a Sabbath dinner with some Orthodox Jews once. They told me they just loved modern technology. You can set electric timers to turn things on and off, before the Sabbath starts.
Twas 5° with a wind chill of -5° when I got up. It has warmed up…all the way to 9° (& no more wind chill).
Happy VD!
Cracker Barrel made breakfast. I’ve emptied the dishwasher. Guess I should start on the dog’s crate. Ugh.
But the temp’s up to 20°, so there’s that.
Howdy Y’all! Home from deheathenization and in my tshirt, jammy pants and socks. So comfy! OYKW is gettin’ N.O.L. ready for us as he told me I should get off my sore knee for a while. I decided not to argue. Really the only big chore is to cook rice. The beast tips (with ‘shrooms, bell and chili peppers) has been slow simmerin’ in the slow cooker since we left this mornin’ and the green beans and baby carrots got cooked earlier and just need to warm up. So soon we shall feast. I’s hongry!
CupCakes failed to mention Episcopal Guilt. OK, so we’re not real big on guilt. However, this bein’ the first Sunday in Lent, Episcopal Guilt is the reason we stayed for The Great Litany. The first Sunday in Lent means the service starts with TGL. Thus, out of Episcopal Guilt, we stayed because one must pray TGL the first Sunday of Lent. Episcopal Guilt also means show up for Christmas, Easter, Pentecost, and All Saint’s Day as well. Other than that it pretty much does not rear its haid.
Happy Sunday!
It’s cold.
SSDD only with more S than usual.
I like the idea Doggio, and may file it away for the future.
BLURF. I went grocery shopping and almost done cooking. I got a large roasting hen roasted, butter beans, baked sweet tater and rice and gravy cooked. Then I think it will be naptime. I have done some laundry and Lucky Louie got his Sunday bath. It is a glorious 70 degrees. I have all the windows open airing out the house.
Happy Valentine’s Day. Hubby got me a very sweet card signed from him and the dog and cat and some chocolate. I will be on the hunt tomorrow for cheap chocolate too.
Just got back from a grocery run. Among other things, I picked up a nice hunk of steak, a russet for him and a sweet N.O.T. for me, and some fresh broccoli. We’ll have a nice supper tonight. **FCD **just went to have a nap. I may plant myself in front of Netflix. The dog’s crate is all clean and reassembled, so apart from making supper, I have nothing else to do today. Yay!
Got up. Made cornbread and bacon for brekkie. Cleaned fish tank and filters. Did partial water change.
I should go shopping for VD fixings, but hubby said to take it easy. So I am having coffee with my feet up.
It’s 10° out on Valentines Day so what did I get? A green milkshake!
Yup, it’s Shamrock shake season.
We et, then OYKW went on a cheap chawklit hunt whilst I achieved nappage. He scored Hershey’s kisses, a couple bags of Hershey’s miniatures in precious little pastel wrappers, and a bag of pastel colored M&Ms. He said a whole lot of stuff was not on sale yet, so I’ll go forage tomorrow. Now 'tis chillax time.
N.O.T. bakeage is underway. The steak is marinating. I’ve also got some fresh 'shrooms that I’ll sauté up with some onions. And I’ll steam some broccoli. YUM!!
