The Off to work MMP

Saturday flavored blurf

Awoke to a dusting of white in the yard, plus its COOOOOOOOOOOOLD and windy and generally not a day I want to leave home for. We had talked about going to a movie this morning, but I think I’m going to talk **FCD **out of it. I’d rather stay home and do chores than venture forth.

I slept till almost 6, and I tried to stay in bed, but once I’m up, it seems I’m up. Higgs has had her morning ration and I’m caffeinating. I’m hungry, but I don’t know what I want for breakfast. Maybe later I’ll be inspired.

**flytrap **- you remind me how glad I am we no longer have the fish tank - especially now that **FCD **is on limited activity and all the fish chores would have fallen to me. No thanks. Just too much work for too little reward.

Happy Frosty Saturday!

Yes, I was reading. I have a healthy respect for those who know how to fix things themselves, without having to look in the yellow pages for a professional fixer of any given type. I am not mechanically or technologically inclined at all.

I’m showered and dressed (in sweats - not really appropriate for most public venues, but I don’t intend to go out in public venues, so I’m good. **FCD **just turned off the shower - I expect he’ll be clad in jammie pants and a t-shirt, since that’s standard recuperation attire. The first load (jeans) is in the washer, and I figure I’ve got at least 4 more to do today. I could save some for tomorrow, but I may as well get it all done now. At least that’s the plan for the moment.

I didn’t get yesterday’s mail. How badly do I want it? It’s a loooooooong walk down the driveway in the cold and wind. Maybe I’ll wait till today’s delivery - then I’ll just have to make one trip. In fact, maybe I can combine it with a food run or something. Drive-thru, of course.

OYKW got up for brekkie and then decided to stay up whilst I went back to bed for a bit. I slept for another hourish and am now all purtified.

MOOOOOM jammie pants and tshirt are the standard slouch about da cave attire. ‘Tis what I am wearin’ as I post. Sometimes I add a touch of fashion and don my terry cloth robe.

“Whilst”?
Whilst ?
:dubious:

Yes; but in my defense it is a rather cold and slow day here.

For breakfast we went to a little diner so we have the car cleared and warm for heading to bingo later. Meat-lovers breakfast for me and much decaf.

Albeit unusual it isn’t without precedence from our Georgia contingent.

No more buttered scones for me, Mater. I’m off to play the Grahnd Piahno

Whilst others were questionin’ my use of whilst, I was havin’ magic intartoobz pizza for N.O.L. :stuck_out_tongue:

The patch seems to be successful. DH is talking about going out to do some shopping and just to see something that’s not our house, the cancer clinic or a hospital. Hooray for small steps!

Flytrap I was reading. But I like aquarium news.

Gottie Glad to hear the patch is helping.

Here it is cloudy, despite all the WPTB saying it would be sunny and hot.

My sis went to her timeshare in Tahoe WITHOUT inviting me. :sulks in corner:

I am drinking coffee and attempting to face the day. Little pup is out in the yard doing her laps. Won’t come in even when I call her. She’ll start towards me, find another place that seems good for running in circles and start running again. It’s very cute.

We saw Kung Fu Panda 3 last night. When I think of the movies I would have missed had I not had children, it makes me sad - for all of the time wasted. Some of the movies are entertaining, but this wasn’t one of them. The kids enjoyed it though.

More coffee required. Happy Satiddy y’all.

Fourth load is in the washer, third in the dryer, first and second hanging in their respective closets. FCD wanted Red Robin for lunch, so we ventured out. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! But it was tasty.

I almost want a nap, but I’ve still got stuff to do. Oh well…

Called out today, digestive system isn’t happy.

Woke up this morning to 16-degree weather and some messages telling me to be careful. So of course I went out. The ham radio club I belong to had its monthly breakfast, and then there was coffee with friends, and a trip to a very, very busy supermarket, and a trip to Petsmart for cat food. Because Ceiling Cat forbid the girls starve to death. And now I’m home, warm and safe and nursing a sore ankle.

Dinner tonight is to be teriyaki salmon with rice and veggies. Valentine’s dinner will be steak, baked potatoes (white for the guys and sweet for me), and some other veggie. I’m cooking because the thought of paying $30.00 for two large sirloins is a lot more palatable than paying three times that and waiting two hours for dinner out. And it’s steak. It’s not that challenging to broil a steak and throw three potatoes in the oven. I just have to decide what to have for 'zert.

Supper was a bowl of cereal and some crackers. And a pain pill. Elegant dining at FairyChatEstates tonight.

Home, warm.

It’s cold out.

Damn cold out!

Brutally Damn cold out!

Tonight will be about 0° with wind chills of -15° to -30° but it wasn’t quite that bad earlier today; temp of low teens °F & wind chills 0°F to -5°F, which means we still did this!
14 on our team (& I made up for the one who chickened out by going in twice), 600+ in all. We raised a couple thousand for ALS. Sea Isle had over 2000 () at theirs!

Burgers and fries have been consumed. ‘Tis gettin’ chillified out. Not as brrrrrr as some of you, but still chilly. Happy to settled into da cozy, warm cave for the evenin’.

gotti yay for the patch workin’ for DH. Hope y’all did get out somewhere for a little while.

{{{Nettie}}} hope the innards are feelin’ better.

Tomorrow I am goin’ to serve at the Luterun service at nine a.m. At the Whiskypal service, it bein’ the first Sunday in Lent, the Great Litany will be said (or I should say chanted). I think we shall stay long enough for the Great Litany then leave at the point where the children leave for children’s church. If we hunch down, they’ll just think we’re two of the bigger kids, right?

Swampy Don’t they already know you’re one of the bigger kids? :dubious:

Valentine’s chez us shall also be home-cooked steak and fixins. Plus the chocolate.

I should now go address the laundry. But there’s a cute, little, innocent, warm, fuzzy kitteh on my lap. Woe is me.

Time to crochet - MWAH!

spidey, brrrrrr!

{{{nettie}}}}

swampy, you and OYKW are cubs at heart. :stuck_out_tongue:

Laundry done, groceries bought and kitchen cleaned. Supper is ribs, slaw, green beansand cornbread from my favorite takeout BBQ joint.

I’m sketching out the decals for my niece’s roller derby helmet. A skull and crossbones and her Rollergirl name in black and silver. Tomorrow I shall take busy bags with me for the little heathens when I go to heathenate. Afterwards, lunch at Blackstone Brewery, where I suspect they’ll have a special Valentine’s beer.
