The Office 1/12/06

This has been the best episode of The Office. I dare say this one has been better than most episodes of Arrested Development.

Who knew Dwight could be a nice guy if he only had a concussion?

This episode is brilliant!

“We like Stevie Wonder”

And Dwight running full out to get Michael while he’s yelling “NOT DWIGHT”

And then Dwight finding alcohol under Merdith’s seat. Jim’s water spray keeping control.

“What did you put?” “Nothing… bringing someone to the hospital” “Did you think they were asking your reason for coming to the hospital?”

Ok, Michael putting his foot into the MRI machine just killed me!

No one yelled after Dwight to bring toilet paper.

That really was the best so far.

Dwight not realizing that he had raised his hand during the meeting with the property manager, and the property manager calling him “the moon-faced guy.”

I thought it was sweet of Pam to tell Oscar about Dwight’s condition so that Angela would know.

Oh, I also loved the crushing up of the aspirins in Michael’s pudding and Ryan saying that’s what he does with his dog! LOL!

This is the first time I watched an episode, and was favorably impressed. Lots of nice funny bits.

But it’s no Arrested Development.

LOL… a classic episode to be sure!!! I think I fell laughing at EVERY GAG… lol. The writers are great.
Anyone seen the original British version via BBC network? I tell ya… we got it right from them… the original is PERFECTION in comedy and the american Office hits it HEAD ON… I love it

::shrug::

I actually feel the American version has surpassed the British one. I guess the painfully embarrasing comedy only goes so far with me. The American version has branched out beyond that.

I loved how Michael burned his foot. When I saw the promos, they made it look like it was all a fake so he could avoid the conference call, but burning it on a George Foreman grill because he likes waking up to bacon cooking. Awesome.

Pan?

I liked how Michael brought the property manager in to teach a lesson about disabilities, but didn’t they have a disabled woman working there previously? And Jim’s unhappiness at knowing Dwight’s middle name was hilarious.

There was a woman in a wheelchair in the second season of the BBC version of The Office, but I don’t remember any disabled people in the American version.

Very funny episode.

When they asked Dwight what his middle name was, he goes, “Danger.”

Totally hilarious episode.

Notice how Pam’s boyfriend didn’t get her the iPod for Christmas?

Yes, I actually laughed out loud at that. Fit in nicely with the water-bottle spraying.

Best line:
When Michael showed his bubble-wrapped foot to Stanley and asked, “What does this look like to you?” and Stanley answered, “Mailboxes, Etc.”

Funniest episode yet!

Leaving bacon out overnight at room temperature – isn’t Michael asking for food poisoning?

I haven’t laughed so hard at a TV show in my life. Last night’s episode was just so hilarious. Everytime Jim ‘corrected’ Dwight with that water bottle I lost it.

Steve Carrel is just so damned funny and plays such a horrible person. What could be more self centered than this exchange with Dwight’s doctor

“Which would you say is worse, a foot injury or a head injury?”
" A head injury"
“OK, but you don’t know the whole story…”

Yeah, I noticed that too. Though I don’t think Pam’s fiance is as much a jerk as Dawn’s. He seemed okay on the “booze cruise”.

Were there fire alarm episodes in both the BBC and American versions? The thing that really sticks in my mind about the woman in the wheelchair was that episode, when the Michael or David takes off and leaves her, and the other employees help her get down the steps. I can’t, however, remember if it was the BBC or American version. Must have been BBC? Gah, I don’t know.

Also, funny :

when the doctor goes, “is it red and swollen?” and Dwight says, “That’s what she said.”

Not so funny in and of itself, but the doctor started cracking up which was funny.

I also liked how the guy who played Dwight just became a completely different character. He just seems like a guy who IS Dwight Shrute. (although if you watched Six Feet Under, you’d know otherwise).
