I personally thought it was a lot better than last week’s. Having an episode set outside the office SOMETIMES works. Jan’s dinner party was one of my favorite episodes too. Infact, most of the house party episodes are some of the funniest.
Plus, that Pam/Naked Angela scene is going to inspire thousands of fan-fics.
Better than last week, for sure. I don’t mind petty Michael: that’s who the character is supposed to be, a clueless and petty manager who’s actions make you squirm. That’s the essence of the character as Ricky Gervais created him. At least Michael is likeable at times, whereas the Gervais character was a horrid little person.
As to people complaining, yet returning to the show every week, it’s like a train wreck you can’t look away from: we all keep hoping that it will get back on the rails. And it’s the last season with Carrell: I’ve already eaten 3/4 of this meal and I’m going to finish it unless I find a roach in it.
Oh, and I liked the pizza dough hitting the fan. Also, whenever Phyllis talks about having sex, it skeeves me out.
I thought the episode was pretty funny, except for Michael Scotts usual petty crap.
Darryl: If I was a girl, and I had to choose between the tall dude who loves Asia, and a you-looking dude who loves sweaters, and wearing sweaters, I’d choose you.
Andy: That’s really nice, thank you.
Darryl: And I’d blow your mind.
Pam: I think we’re good friends. Remember your concussion?
Dwight: I do, but you married my worst enemy.
Pam : I know…
Jim: Well, I think “enemy” is a strong word, because I think we have a really charming back and forth…
Kevin: I wanted to eat Pigs in a Blanket… in a blanket.
Dwight: In the Schrute family the youngest child always raises the others. I’ve been raising children since I was a baby.
And Gabe and Ryan are both into the same pretentious hipster bullshit!
I wonder if the writers purposely had Kevin accidentally imply that he too was a pig (in a blanket)?
The only difference is that next week (not that it’ll be brought up again), Ryan will be into something totally different and would refer to all that stuff as hipster pretentious bullshit.
Lots of people (like me) never watch the previews and appreciate them being discussed in spoiler boxes. There are some shows for which that’s the general SDMB policy, and some for which it’s not.
I thought this was a decent episode.
