I thought his character would have fit in perfectly in the show. I hope he comes back as a regular somehow.
And I did laugh. But it was the “Conditioned-to-laugh-at-fat-jokes” me. The real me felt terrible for him.

I agree, the scene of trying to get Tony (?) on the table went a bit too far, as I actually started to feel bad for the actor.
One of the reasons I love this show - when Michael fired him, I turned to Mr. Cinnamon and said, “So now he’ll get severance or unemployment,” and the show followed it up.
Oh, and “Follow me, I’ll show you where the slaves sit.”
Even the line before the attempt was great:
“No, I mean I can’t physically… get up on the table…”
Michael: “Oh… well, you just have to use the momentum of… your lower half.”
(or something like that. It was “use the momentum” that got me).
“See, what they all need is just a common enemy, like the lunch lady…”
(And Michael’s main friend by the end of high school was apparently the lunch lady…!)
This was the second reference to that video so far. In the Pretzel Day episode the cut to a scene of Kelly in line with Michael and she saying “…and then it ended up that they were rapping about cup cakes and the Chronicles of Narnia. It was so funny.”
I’m a big fan of Karen now, but I am confused as to why Jim told Pam they were dating. Are they dating now? I don’t think they are.
“Ditto, my brother.” I love Creed. He’d be over the top if he were on screen for more than 30 seconds, but in short bursts like that, he’s awesome.
I was wondering that too. Have they really started dating or was he saying that to get at Pam?
He didn’t say they were dating…he said he was “sorta seeing someone”. Since (as far as we know) they haven’t even kissed, it’s certainly a stretching of the truth. I’m thinking he just wanted to see what Pam’s reaction would be.
What I want to know is where Pam was coming from in that scene. She wasn’t coming from the front doors of the office, and she kind of stumbled over her explaination to Jim about where she had just been. My take: she went to the warehouse to see Roy.
Ah, I hadn’t thought of that! I assumed she was lurking to leave at the same time as Jim.
Yeah she was coming from the warehouse.
And we really have no idea where Jim and Karen stand. They could be fooling around regularly for all we know. Clearly some time has passed between this episode and the last episode. The hand on the back move was pretty telling of their comfort level right now.
It occurs to me that Dwight and Andy may well end up being buddies allied against Jim. I could see them bonding over video games like Medal of Honor.
I think there were supposed to be a couple of hints that Jim and Karen had grown a little closer than what we’ve seen onscreen.
Oh God, I was practically squirming off the couch in embarrassment watching the table scene. I think what was so cringe-worthy about it is that it just went on and on–a non-stop onslaught of cringe-worthiness.
I agree about Earl too. I did laugh out loud during some of the last episode but I definitely felt the lack of funny because Randy wasn’t talking for most of the episode.
Good question, I assumed Michael was referring to the warehouse guys who now work for Vance.
However, it seems like the decision not to close Scranton happened fast enough that they could have gotten out of that lease to Vance and would have needed the space.
My take on Pam/Jim is that she innocently thought they were just friends until the final episode of season two when she clearly rejected his advances. Am I missing other truely obvious occasions? As a result, I can’t blame her too much for the way the relationship failed to take off.
I can’t say for sure, but I’m pretty sure Vance has always shared the building. Hence why Phyllis was “cutting the line” in the Pretzel episode.
The only time I can really think of is the party episode. Jim was giving a tour of the apartment and Pam kind of lingered in his bedroom.
When did Pam and Roy get engaged? I didn’t watch most of the first season.
I think she’s insecure. That’s partly the reason she dresses dowdy. The other part, of course, is Creed, but a more confident woman would just tell him to buzz off when he stared at her cleavage.
Has she ever confronted Roy about his selfish behavior? Another sign of insecurity, if she hasn’t.
Or maybe she just doesn’t like conflict.
Pam and Roy had already been engaged for a couple of years when the first season started. I don’t recall her ever confronting Roy.
And since Pam broke off their engagement shortly before the wedding, Roy has become quite the puppy dog. He’s quite heartbroken and would do anything to get her back. He’s a sympathetic character now.
