The Office 3/16

(For those on other timezones, spoilers be here)
Shaping up to be a great episode so far:

“Who doesn’t like their fun uncle?”

“Mr. Poop”

LOL!

I think my favorite line so far was from Toby’s little girl to Phyllis:

“Are you Mother Goose?”

For episode they show Michael as a total jerk, episodes like this make you feel for me. I really like how much depth Michael, as a character, has. That was a very sad moment for him. Though he really seemed to bond with Sacha.

Though, the “LittleKidLover” username was a HOOT!

I also loved it when Kevin ran out of ‘confessional’ to check his computer. And Ryan getting freaked out by Stanley’s yelling at him.

It wasn’t one of my favorite episodes, but maybe that’s because I’d been watching the BBC version just before this – the Christmas party special.

I thought the Michael as a lonely child bit was sappy. As many times as he probably watched that video over the years, wouldn’t he have remembered what was on it? How pitiful that was? Did he (maybe subconsciously) want his office mates to feel sorry for him?

I don’t mind Michael not being a jerk all the time, but I don’t want the writers to make him too sympathetic.

Kelly is worried about Ryan and Stanley’s son…hilarious!

Make that Stanley’s daughter…is that some fucked up Freudian slip?

He could have forgotten his embarrasing remark. After all, his mom had it and Michael probably hadn’t seen it in years.

And I’m glad they make him somewhat sympathetic. What would doom this show is a total jerk Michael. It’s good that they flesh him out. In the end Michael IS sympathetic as a character; it is just his coping mechanism is being a jerk.

“Are you Mother Goose” is my favorite line as well.

Good episode.

I also really liked Dwight’s storybook. I’ll chime in later with more Im sure.

Pretty good episode. I like how Kelly was holding on to Ryan during the song at the end.

“Kelly’s idea of fun is to get married and have kids now.”

Next week is another repeat from last season. It’s the health care one which is hilarious.

I’m enjoying how they’ve strung up the Pam/Jim dynamic. At one point Jim seemed to have been quite confused over what to do over Pam, but at this point he’s sort of given up and withdrawn from her somewhat, and she’s feeling that tug.

(I have a feeling Jim paid the bratty kid to go play with Pam. Just seems like the kind of thing he would do.)

Yeah, I didn’t see much interaction between them this time. But did Pam give him a look when he mentioned that he had a date?

She had an adoring look on her face when Jim was interacting well with a child. I don’t get the “Mother Goose” question. Why is that funny?

I don’t think anyone realized how MUCH Phyllis looks like Mother Goose until Sasha asked her.

E.

Holy shit, how is it not funny?

Kind of an innocent way of seeing an older lady in an office and calling her “Grandma”.

The look on that damn puppet’s face after little Michael’s revelation had me rolling.

His signon name had me in tears.

That was a materful piece of comedic editing.

I liked Roy and Pam winning over Meredith’s little hellion. That kid could have a hell of a career as a paper shredder.

It’s hilarious that Ryan apparently continues to see Kelly and their relationship is supposed to be about “having fun”, since he seems to be having a distinct lack of fun. She must be awesome at stuff that happens offscreen for him to stick around through that. “Kelly” was the writer of this episode too.

Another solid episode. Dwight and Angela continue to crack me up… Angela talking about the qualities her “mate” would need to have…

Is it just me, or have there been quite a few suggestions that Dwight and Angela have a dom/sub relationship? The adoring look on her face as she talked about requiring a strict disciplinarian, and then as she watched Dwight get tough with the little brat…

I caught a whiff of it in the Valentine’s Day episode too, when Dwight was in “the confessional” discussing the key to his apartment he’d given Angela (I’m watching it again to get the quote right):

Has anyone else picked up on this, or am I imagining it?
