Technically, it’s parkour, if point A is delusion, and point B is the hospital.
I thought intern #3 actually looked a lot like Matt Damon, but leave it to Michael to come up with Alan Thicke.

For some reason I was thinking he had a convertible PT Cruiser.
I thought this was a great episode. It mixed comedy and tragedy the way the Office does when it’s at its best.
No. Pam.
It’s weird. The summer interns had a ‘talking heads’ moment, yet Erin’s hasn’t yet gotten the chance, unless there’s a deleted scene out there I haven’t seen.
I think Erin had one. Didn’t she say something like, “Do I have to do this every break?” But we’re rewatching season 5 right now–maybe that’s where I saw it–during the Charles Miner eps.
That’s right! Although my memory of it is still fuzzy. It’s like I saw it once… and I often re-watched the shows online, (MSPC episodes especially) a few times. Oh well.
I wish I could afford last season on DVD.
Michael was at his asinine best in this episode. It’s just so idiotic/naive of him to not realize how much hurt his gossip will cause Stanley. And to fix it, he spreads more phony gossip! The writers did an excellent job of reminding us again of the unsurpassed idiocy of Michael Scott. Overall, this was a good episode and it gave every character (even the interns) some great lines.
I loved how all the rumors he started were somewhat plausible - Kelly’s anorexic, Pam’s pregnant, Creed’s got asthma, but then Kevin asks “Who’s been saying there’s another person inside of me, working me with controls!”
And Angela’s “You know, a baby conceived out of wedlock is still a bastard” was great.
The 10 seconds after Michael said “Cynthia” on the phone with Teri were classic Steve Carrell. I swear the man is actually funnier when he doesn’t talk than when he does.
Haha, I forgot about Creed having asthma. And how serious of a rumor that was.
I have a daughter! How could you think I was a virgin?
That’s what I assumed it was. They do still make spray deodorant, don’t they?
I thought it was hairspray.
So are we supposed to believe Michael – Teri was suspicious before Michael’s phone call? That was a good cover story for Michael, which makes me think it’s true. Michael’s not good at cover stories.
Michael sure seemed unconcerned when he saw Stanley smashing up his company car.
What was Meredith spraying on her pits? I thought it was a blue can, too big to be deodorant. Something found in the restroom, I thought–air freshener?
Lysol?
I had the sense that Michael seemed unconcerned because he knew he fucked up and he had it coming.
Y’know, I’m going to disagree with most of the pack here. While I thought the episode had some really funny moments, I didn’t really like the overall premise.
Michael’s an unlovable dolt, but I like it best when you at least want to like him. The best office eps in my opinion are the ones that show Michael as hopelessly out of his element, in over his head, and/or out of touch. He acted so poorly in this episode that I had zero sympathy for him and just wanted somebody to smother him. This episode reminded me of Michael in the first season, where I constantly wanted to smack him.
The Spartacus reference and the rumor about Kevin having a person inside controlling him were hilarious though. Especially since people thought the latter was worth repeating.
He did, but they don’t make Sebrings anymore. He’s got a PT Cruiser Convertible.
I thought Michael did a pretty damn good and creative job attempting to cover up the Stanley rumor.
I have to say, I especially loved Andy sitting there in suspense waiting for Michael to tell him if the gay rumor is true or not.
