Andy thinks he’s related to Michelle Obama. Dwight teaches Erin ‘Game of Thrones’ Dothraki. Pam and Nellie bond as Pam helps her learn to drive. Jim & Darryl team up for Jim’s new venture, which he finally tells Pam about. Pam’s bummed out that Jim didn’t tell her sooner. Pete obviously has a crush on Erin.
Good episode – I loved that into also. I also liked that Nellie gets a little character development and gets to be something other than a shrill bitch. Darryl had a good bit with his time management but nobody really seemed interested in work related things, as per usual in that office. I’m not sure where they’re going with Pete and Erin and I always liked Erin with Andy.
Because Pete is the “new Jim” and at the beginning Jim took a liking to the receptionist (Pam) even though she was already taken by another person in the office (Roy).
There were a couple of funny bits: e.g. Andy making the whip-cracking sound, Nellie explaining that she’ll be eating while driving so she might as well start practicing now.
Overall I didn’t think it was that great. 30 Rock was my clear favourite last night.
Did Jim really ask Darryl if he wanted a job or was he asking hypothetical “what would you do” questions about his own situation that Darryl took the wrong way?
I asked my wife the same thing. There was a subtle misunderstanding I felt, and it ultimately didn’t feel like Jim asked Darryl to join, but Darryl took it that way. I guess we’ll find out.
I re-watched it (jump to 18:00), and it starts off with Jim saying “Like hypothetically if I said there was another job that you and I could both have.” But then Jim sort of forgets about Darryl as the conversation goes on and it turns into a self-pep talk; I think that’s where I got the idea that maybe Jim didn’t really invite Darryl to join.
It does seem, however, that he *did *invite Darryl to join him-- with the whole “another job you and I could both have” thing.
