I didn’t catch that line. I did see Michael suggest to the ad men that Stanley is DM’s “urban” character.
Hey, if you’re so intent on making this point, rewatch the episode on NBC.com and report back.
Yes, ma’am.
That’s the one part of the show that I don’t think they’re exaggerating much. People working together screw a lot. From what I’ve seen in offices, it’s not just the pretty people, either. Just basically assume that all the boys and all the girls either want to, are doing, or have done each other, and you’re not going to be too far from the truth. In my opinion, of course. Off the top of my head, I could name you three of my jobs where cheating with co-workers wrecked marriages/changed company Christmas party policy/made everyone else uncomfortable, however.
Ohhhh yeah, Jim was being a total dick. Not only is he belittling her wanting to do the animation, he’s getting jealous of her spending time on things other than him.
His smarminess toward Dwight’s Second Life thing was also the first real crack we’ve ever seen (IIRC) in the ‘Jim is the coolest guy in the world’ facade.
He’s already taking her for granted, and I predict within the next couple episodes he’ll start giving her attitude about her class and how it’s cutting into their time together.

Jim has seemed like a bit of an asshole to me from day one.

Jim and Pam are both kind of assholes. They’re both good people, too. In other words, they’re a lot like most of us.
