and they are out of the vehicle between 7th and 8th.
That crowd is freaking LOUD!
I’m nervous as hell now. Was walking out of the limo impromptu or planned?
Secret Service is probably crapping their pants right about now- although one of the commentators is saying that the walk was planned.
I took a personal day today so I could watch all day, and I’m so glad I did. I knew I’d be all weepy- it’s been a long 8 years with Bush. I was so happy to hear him talk about not sacrificing liberty for security- nice to have a President who seems to remember that he put his hand on the Bible and promised to uphold the Constitution, instead of the other way around.
Or “Where the white women at?”
and they are back in the limo.
Reuters via MSNBC: Kennedy is awake and responsive; evaluations continue.
Planned. I heard on the news the other day that even though they can’t do the whole open-car thing anymore, it’s still tradition to walk part of the route.
Whatever happened to the glass bubble over the sunroof?
Graphic of The Beast. Straight out of a bad movie.
and… he is on the loose again!
He’s out of The Beast again. Voiceover in the back: “And the crowd goes wild.”
That graphic of the presidential limo mentions that the driver’s side window is the only one that lowers, and that only for three inches, in case they need to pay a toll. Somehow, I can’t imagine the presidential limo stopping at a toll booth.
“Bottles of the president’s blood kept on board in case he needs an emergency transfusion.”
I wonder how often the President has to give blood to replace that backup supply!
Could happen. They might have to wait while they send someone back for a shitload of dimes.
Like the Pres doesn’t have E-Z Pass.
Do you think that the discussion on other message boards have turned into long Blazing Saddles riffs?
Maybe they pay with asspennies.
Kids in the Hall fan?
Nah, even as a pagan I can’t get my panties bundled over that. I see it as a symbol of Obama’s faith, specifically, not of “America’s faith” in general. More like asking the family pastor to bless his new endeavor and ask for God’s guidance (and yes, I know Warren and Obama don’t have a “family pastor” relationship… it’s a symbol). And since Obama is Christian, it makes sense to have a Christian pastor.
If, by some miracle, we ever had a Muslim president, for example, I’d fully expect the benedictor to be an imam.
