Cauliflower? That might be a dealbreaker for me.
Bellini sounds good too.

ETA: Explanations - I’ve had blood sausage and hated it, so blood pudding has no allure.
The idea of the burning pain from raw super-hot peppers appeals to me not at all.
I’m not a sashimi fan generally, so raw fish that might make me ill has no draw as well.
Meanwhile I don’t care for most bivalves, though I’ve tried them all. Similarily Lapsang Souchong does nothing for me and Krispy Kremes are kind of nasty if you ask me. Don’t like lox. My father was a huge sauerkraut fan - I have no wish to relive that nastiness from my youth. And I won’t drink gin after that…incident :p.
I’m not big on cauliflower, but I like aloo gobi. I didn’t even know what it was till I looked it up on Wikipedia and saw the picture; then it was “oh yeah, they have that stuff at the Indian buffet with all that other unknown stuff and it’s great stuff”. Verrrry yummy.
1. Venison
2. Nettle tea
3. Huevos rancheros
4. Steak tartare
5. Crocodile (this and the rattlesnake were both in sausage form, so I can’t comment on the flavor)
6. Black pudding (the British sausage, not the D&D ooze)
7. Cheese fondue
8. Carp (probably, though I don’t recall specifically
9. Borscht
10. Baba ghanoush (I’m not certain on this one… I’ve had Middle Eastern foods that might have contained it)
11. Calamari (heavenly or terrible, depending on how it’s prepared)
12. Pho (I think so… A family friend runs a chain of Vietnamese restaurants, and it looks familiar)
13. PB&J sandwich
14. Aloo gobi
15. Hot dog from a street cart
16. Epoisses
17. Black truffle
[del]18. Fruit wine made from something other than grapes[/del] (My body doesn’t handle alcohol well… But I’ve heard that dandelion wine is very nice)
19. Steamed pork buns (But they sound fairly straightforward)
20. Pistachio ice cream
21. Heirloom tomatoes
22. Fresh wild berries
23. Foie gras
24. Rice and beans
25. Brawn, or head cheese
[del]26. Raw Scotch Bonnet pepper[/del] Diluted in a recipe, sure, but I’m not insane enough to eat one straight.
27. Dulce de leche Mmmmmmm… I have an Argentinian office-mate who makes this
28. Oysters
29. Baklava I also have a Turkish office-mate, and he always brings a bunch back
30. Bagna cauda (If it’s good enough for Garibaldi, it’s good enough for me)
31. Wasabi peas
32. Clam chowder in a sourdough bowl
33. Salted lassi Mango lassi, sure, but salty lassi just makes me even thirstier
34. Sauerkraut
35. Root beer float
[del]36. Cognac with a fat cigar[/del] Alcohol.
37. Clotted cream tea It’s probably a waste of perfectly good tea, but I’d certainly try it once
[del]38. Vodka jelly/Jell-O[/del] Alcohol again
39. Gumbo
40. Oxtail Not really any different than any other beef soup stock
41. Curried goat
42. Whole insects
43. Phaal (As long as it’s made as a real dish, not a test of machismo/stupidity… I’ve yet to encounter an Indian dish that was too spicy for me to even try)
44. Goat’s milk
[del]45. Malt whisky from a bottle worth £60/$120 or more[/del] Again with the alcohol
[del]46. Fugu[/del] From what I understand, the only appeal of this dish is the fact that it can kill you.
47. Chicken tikka masala
48. Eel (Tastes like chicken)
49. Krispy Kreme original glazed doughnut (OK, so there’s no such thing as a bad donut, but Krispy Kreme isn’t a good donut, either)
50. Sea urchin
51. Prickly pear (Makes a wonderfull jelly)
52. Umeboshi
53. Abalone
54. Paneer
55. McDonald’s Big Mac Meal
56. Spaetzle
[del]57. Dirty gin martini[/del]
[del]58. Beer above 8% ABV[/del]
59. Poutine (Sort of… I’ve made it myself a couple of times, and it was good, but I’ve never had the “real” thing, so I don’t know how close I got)
60. Carob chips (Not bad, but why settle for carob when you can have chocolate?)
61. S’mores
62. Sweetbreads
63. Kaolin
64. Currywurst (first I’ve heard of it, but it sounds good)
65. Durian (I’ve heard that it’s wonderful, but doesn’t travel well, so you have to go to South America to eat it)
66. Frogs’ legs
67. Beignets, churros, elephant ears or funnel cake (I’m not sure why these are all on the same line… They’re very different)
68. Haggis
69. Fried plantain
70. Chitterlings or andouillette
71. Gazpacho (I think so, at least)
72. Caviar and blini (I’ve had blini, but not caviar)
[del]73. Louche absinthe[/del] (More alcohol, with extra brain-rotting goodness)
74. Gjetost, or brunost
75. Roadkill (I might, but only if it’s very fresh-- i.e., I know the driver)
[del]76. Baijiu[/del] (I’d never heard of it, but apparently it’s more alcohol)
77. Hostess Fruit Pie
78. Snail
79. Lapsang souchong (I’d give it a try, but I suspect I wouldn’t like it)
[del]80. Bellini[/del] (another alcoholic drink I’d never heard of)
81. Tom yum
82. Eggs Benedict
83. Pocky
84. Tasting menu at a three-Michelin-star restaurant. (Don’t think I’ve ever been to one of those)
85. Kobe beef
86. Hare (probably… Grampap hunted vermin, and wouldn’t let the meat go to waste. He never told us when, specifically, we were eating it, though)
87. Goulash
88. Flowers
89. Horse
90. Criollo chocolate
91. Spam
92. Soft shell crab
93. Rose harissa
94. Catfish (one of the tastier fish varieties)
95. Mole poblano
96. Bagel and lox
97. Lobster Thermidor
98. Polenta
[del]99. Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee[/del] (I’ve never yet met a coffee I’ve liked)
100. Snake
So that makes 52 things I’ve had and 48 I havent, of which I wouldn’t even try 12, mostly because of alcohol content. And I had to Google many of the things I haven’t tried (and a few I have).
Wait, are we counting hare as distinct from rabbit? I’ve had rabbit - can’t say I’ve had an actual hare ( like one of our local jackrabbits ).
Anything not formatted specially is something I’ve not had but would try. Although I’m pretty positive I’d hate cognac & cigar, and any variety of coffee. I am always willing to try even things I say I hate, though. Not things that are likely to kill me quickly, though.
Whatever’s not on the list I have had. I may have had umeboshi, but I’m not certain.
I did find out that “clotted cream tea” is not a beverage. (‘Tea’ here refers to the meal).
You might be disappointed if you go there. Durian’s native to Southeast Asia. I have seen frozen ones in markets in the US, though. And no, it isn’t wonderful.
P.S. see my previous post about “Clotted Cream Tea”.
39 I haven’t tried, of which I’d try 38 if I can find 'em…

I’ve eaten everything on that list except:
I would try all of those. There’s nothing on the list that I would not eat again.
A lot of these weren’t memorable enough to be sure if I’ve had them or not. I didn’t bother starring everything I would eat; it goes without saying.
Damn, I’m hungry now! Looks like there’s nothing I won’t eat. (Pretty much knew that. I’d probably try casu marzu if I had the chance. I’d chew well, though. Entric myiasis sounds pretty freaking scary.)
I wonder if Mangetout will even bother with this one?
Do some posters here think that headcheese or brawn has something to do with brains? It doesn’t. It’s odds and ends of trimmings, the meat from the cow cheeks, etc., bits too small to go anywhere on their own, cooked in the stock made from the bones and then cooled in a form or pan where the stock gels and sets as aspic around the bits of meat. Of course, it is seasoned. My husband likes it on sandwiches, with thick slices of raw onion.
I’m not fond of it, but I’ve made it a number of times after we’ve butchered.
I’ve eaten a lot of the things on that list, but some I wouldn’t try, ever. Like fugu or roadkill!
Did this a little bit ago in my LJ, but I got to try 2 things since then, leaving 25 items on the list I haven’t tried yet, and only one - bugs, that I don’t think I ever would.
