This should be fun!
I wonder how many Alex Jones fans will go there assuming he’s still in charge. Lots, I hope.

A dozen-ish posts on topic in one of the existing Alex Jones threads:
Thanks. I thought this event deserved its own thread.
I’ve been guilty recently of offering my opinion on what ought to go where a bit too often and a bit too forcefully. Junior-modding is a slippery slope best avoided. So I cross linked those other posts to yours, and yours to theirs, without comment.
I agree with you that this topic is a fresh new chapter in a long-running book and deserves its own thread.
It’s really hard to know where to post things these days so they’ll be seen by the most (interested) people.
While this is good news, as a dedicated listener to the Knowledge Fight podcast I know that this won’t be the end of Alex Jones. He’s already set up an alternative broadcast and marketing company, officially owned by one of his sycophants, but quite obviously controlled by him. He’ll be on salary instead of owning the company, and his wages will be docked forevermore, but he’ll never go off the air.
Now that Trump has insulted him directly, he’s just pathetic, because he lacks the courage to break with him completely. This is why conspiracy guys should never endorse a politician.
He is, yes, going to cling on to shreds of relevance as long as he can keep grifting, but between losing his flagship, taking a huge financial hit, and running afoul of our Mad King, his influence is far less and likely to continue waning, and it must gall him endlessly to see The Onion triumph at last.
The real question is, how many of them will recognize parody.
So Infowars will be less ridiculous now?
Ridiculous to whose taste? There are people who swear it was all factual back in the Alex Jones days.
ISTM what’ll happen is the hard core Jones customers will all but instantly move on. Leaving them no audience and no desire by folks like us to begin frequenting the tainted name. It’ll shut down soon enough for that reason.
That’s easy: zero.
Parody is a pretty elevated concept for this crowd. They will go there assuming it’s still the fountain of truth it has always been. Gears will grind. Heads may explode. I’m looking forward to it!
Maybe not. They might not get it immediately.
Did anyone else see jone’s shirtless tirade and how he’s got lawyers that are going to fix it. The commenter said something like, please someone give him his shirt back. Too funny. He was ranting, You can wear my shirt but it doesn’t make you me, or something like that. Alex Jones Goes on Wild, Shirtless, On-Air Tirade After The Onion Reaches Deal to Buy InfoWars: ‘They’re Body Snatchers!’
“They literally take your skin” is an… interesting accusation.
I cannot in principle endorse anybody’s literally taking Alex Jones’s skin. On the other hand, I can’t help sympathizing with the 250,000 or so unfortunate cockroaches trapped inside it and yearning for freedom. Maybe it would be kinder on the whole just to take the skin and let them go.
I used to enjoy watching the Colbert Report.
If somebody takes Alex Jones skin, do we all get to see the lizard-person underneath the disguise?
No, all the cockroaches will spill out and scurry for cover.
It’s a fast crazy modern world, but we all have basic similar needs. Humor blended with a few facts for entertainment is an old one. It’s my pet theory Alex Jones was a parody of a conservative pundit who also peddled merch on the side. There were a few 4CHAN nutty true believers, but for the most part this is similar to The Flat Earth Society, a trolling hub for people with modern loneliness issues.
I sympathize with online trolls and Karens more than I used to. We spend more of our daily existence online and no one ever cares what you write so that has many social consequences.
This just in: Tim Heidecker sleeps nude in an oxygen tent which he believes gives him sexual powers!
Just a reminder that that is an actual Infowars headline, not an Onion-Infowars one.
The response from “Tim Onion”:
If somehow the Onion has gotten the website but Jones still controls the same brand name on X, truth social, etc., that is a recipe for even more confusion that usual.
Holy Schizophrenia, Batman! Which Infowars is taunting us now? The crazy-funny one or the unfunny crazy one?
