The Open Championship (Golf) - Discussion

I cannot recall any other tournament I’ve seen suspended for high winds.

I played on a windy day where when we chipped up to the hole ,it blew back. It was exposed to a strong wind and the pin was at the top of the mound. We just took a 2 putt each and walked away. it was unplayable.

For Round 2, he chose Cotton Candy.

There are no words to describe how awesome Daly is.

The 17th ,par 4 is playing at 4.8. Kind of tough.

Its like something the teacher from the Magic School Bus would wear.

Tiger was close to a hole in one on the 18th (par 4)

Yeah, he pushed that tee shot two inches right. That was a hell of a break that the early starters got today. Nobody in the afternoon group will break par, and there is a 5+ stroke difference between morning and afternoon scores.

Ah, Tom. That’s a great way to finish up.

He drove it today and 3 putted. That is a bad way to finish.

Meanwhile, the kid from SA is 4 clear of the field, 7 ahead of 3rd place.

8 shot lead-I really hope this kid sticks-he has had this goofy smile on his face the entire weekend, just like it was a simple stroll in the park (which it is, now).

Mcilroy has to be kicking himself. That 2nd round 80 has to haunt him. He could have applied pressure if he shot near par that day.

Well that was boring.

Well, unless you like the opportunity to see every weird kind of penalty stroke possible.

I wondered how anyone could pay as poorly as Dustin Johnson in the final round of a major, and then along came Calc. Wouldn’t have wanted to be on my spouse’s bag for a round like that!

Really weird when it seems as tho one player is playing a different course and in different conditions than the entire rest of the field.

Indeed-any Nationwide Tour scrub can come along and eke out a victory in a major, and never be seen again, but to win by 7 strokes might be indicative of something more. We shall see.
