I’m told that about 5 minutes into the movie, “Wild Target,” a character comes face to face with a painting that is (allegedly) the other bank, opposite the setting in “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.” What’s the SD on this?
I didn’t see it, but I’ll guess it was Bathers at Asnieres, which Seurat painted of the other bank. Bathers came first, Sunday Afternoon came second, but was the one that made a sensation.
I’ve been to La Grande Jatte and also the other bank, and you have to mentally move the trees around, but yes they are on opposite banks.
