The Pod people have taken my son!

And replaced him with some weird immataion because he’s in the kitchen… cleaning!

And I didn’t even ask him to!

What does he want?

Ha! That was my first thought as well. Maybe I’ll find out later.

Bingo!
He either wants something or he’s about to ask you if he can have a few friends or a girl over for dinner. You’ll know it’s the latter if he asks what’s for dinner tonight

That was my first thought.
What else could motivate a teen to clean?

it’s a cover to get extra food.

The more important question: What’s he done?

Uh oh, Shakes! Did he borrow the car last night?!

And that didn’t take long.
He wants me to take him to Cheddars for lunch today.
(I agreed.)

Or maybe he want’s it tonight.

Whoops - didn’t see that it was resolved.
Glad it was just lunch.

Maybe he is smart enough to do it every once in a while at random times, with no particular reason, just to make him unpredictable. Remember experimental psychology? Reinforcement will strengthen an organism’s future behavior whenever that behavior is preceded by a specific antecedent stimulus, which retains potency longer when it is randomized.
