The Post T-Day MMP

Part of my “happy birthday” got cut off, sigh.

Jem got me all flustered…

יום הולדת שמח

Na na na na na na! You snooze - you lose! (sorry I couldn’t resist!)

Well I oughta…, whippersnappers. Whatcha gonna to do…

Many happy returns of the day, No one!

I have put out the snow village. This consists of 3 “neighborhoods” which I will share with you if I ever figure out the digital camera and then upload the damned pics etc.

The DR bay window is the residential section (why, yes, my miniature village is zoned). However, there was no place to fit the church, so that’s over there with the houses. I have a snobby house, a doctor’s house (complete with office hours), an old fashioned grandma type house (clapboard, big porch) and a nicer suburban house.

The DR sideboard is the outskirts of town. Here is the bait and feed shop, the poinsettia greenhouse, the Xmas tree stand, the ice skating rink and yes, the lighthouse.

The LR credenza is downtown. This is one bustling hamlet: we have a bank, an optometrist/dentist office, a Christmas store, a post office, an arts center (including performing!), a library, and a Starbucks.

And now I’m tired. I don’t collect Snow Village anymore. We ran out of room, but mostly it became rather tacky. A Harley dealership? I have no problem with RL Harley dealerships, but I didn’t want one immortalized in ceramic. Or the bowling alley or the trailer camper. There are no cars in my village, only one horse drawn carriage. It’s a weird mix of 1930s “It’s A Wonderful Life”, Little House on the Prairie and Mayberry with Yuppies. The kids love it. But it’s a ton of work.

I should explain I didn’t sift through and find my particular buildings.

Hey! I wanted to be first!!! ::sticks out tongue at both Soapy and Jem:: (Although I couldn’t have coded the Hebrew…)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Special One!!!

Your snow village sounds impressive, rigs.

Funny kitty story, Pigpen. It’s nice to win kitties over, isn’t it?

Hi all! De-cluttering the office is fun! Turns out the desk actually has a surface. Who knew?

I’ve also organized coupons again and made some progress in the kitchen. Yes…I tend to get bored and move to something else after a while.

Dinner is the last of the yummy sweet potatoes and some stuffing with gravy.

Off to continue with the clean-up.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SPECIAL ONE!!!

Aww, hope it’s a great one.

No other news; hope that the FCM and FCD open house is going well!

Anyone feel like starting us out on Monday? I just realized we don’t have anyone lined up…

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SPECIAL ONE!!!

**Haze, **I feel you did the right thing with regards to TG. He’s an idiot.

Various hugs, gropes, kisses, etc to all who need them. Hell, take one of each!

Things have been somewhat busy here today, but not overly so. I’ve got dinner in the oven, but to tell you the truth, I don’t feel much like eating. I just don’t feel well at all. It just hit me suddenly about 10 minutes ago. I hope it passes soon.

I have a very small snow village. I put it up in the alcove area above the fireplace. I like the old-fashioned Victorian kind of look, so there are no “modern” stores or automobiles.

Hmm, guess I’ll surf the net until dinner is done.

SPECIAL BIRTHDAY WISHES TO NOONE SPECIAL!

!!!**

Tater, sending you Not Getting Sick vibes. And I’m a bit lonely, so I’ll take a hug.

Rigs, I love those Christmas vignettes. thingies. whatchamacallits.

Mahna, did the twinge pass?

Well I managed to catch up with cleaning. Got the place vacuumed, the bathroom scrubbed and three loads of laundry done. Caught an earful of apartment gossip; seems a certain retiree likes to listen at people’s doors.

Dinner is looking like the leftover chicken enchildas from the freezer. Hopefully there’s something on TV worth watching!

Whew - who let all them tacky people into my house!??!

Last guest (of mine) just left a few minutes ago. Daughter and SIL still have a friend hanging with them in the apartment. **MamaTigs **did indeed give Taz skritches, snowbunny! She also finished knitting a sock, now having a complete pair that is quite attractive!

Among other guests were 2 high school friends, a Navy friend, and a guy I knew when I worked here 8+ years ago. Plus a bunch of fambly members, and 3 friends of the newlyweds. A nice time was had, much food was left over, and my darling spousal unit and his mother cleaned the kitchen. I loaded the dishwasher and it’s running now. I’m winding down before crashing. I’m pooped.

Tomorrow, I shall do NOTHING!!! Except maybe surf here. And wish **Nooner **a Happy Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday SpecialOne!!!

Yay! Scritches for Taz kitteh! I get to go home in an hour and scritch Sapphire. She’s getting verrrrrry demanding when I get home from work. I don’t mind as long as she lets me run to the bathroom before the Serious Worship begins!

I forgot to say – good for you, haze! It sucks, indeed yes it sucks the big one, but you’ll be better off without him in the long run.

I found the bunny I’m sitting really likes carrots. And that critter eats fast! Tomorrow’s my last day looking in on him, so he’ll get more carrot. I know they need a varied diet but I figured as a treat it’s hard to go wrong with a carrot, and it’s such a rabbity thing to eat. I’m glad he likes 'em because frankly I’m not a big fan.

Can one of you domestic mumpers come help me clean my (itty) house? I need to do the kitchen and bathroom and have a case of the dontwannas that has lasted over a week already. I would definitely be willing to pay and I know a lovely hotel you could stay at…puhleeze? Somebody?

¡Feliz Cumpleaños, Menú Del Día!

but I’m not eating you :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, everybody!

**Ivory **-- admit it, it wasn’t Jemmie that got you all flustered  Oh, and תודה רבה

**Nava **-- so I’m the Daily Special, now? Won’t you at least take a bite…?

Spaz – I saw what you did there  :gropes back:

**Jemmie **-- I’d tell you all about what I got, if you’d enable PM’ing you! :stuck_out_tongue:

Taters – if you run out of grope, hugs, kisses, etc., you can get some more from me

Was taken out by family (and was part of taking out Special Teen, whose B-day is tomorrow) on Friday night. Nice Czech pub-restaurant in downtown Tel-Aviv. Really nice.
“I’ll be back!!”

Tonight is going to be spent oh-so-fittingly packing my suitcase for a 6 AM flight out to Poland, again…

FCM – sounds like a good time was had by all!

Happy Sunday, everybody!

It’s a rainy Sunday and as usual I was up around 6. Taz was plastered to my side exactly where he was when he crashed last night. I just finished a few pieces of the bread machine gingerbread that I made yesterday (yum) and I’m sipping my diet coke. Doggies have been out, and that was no easy chore.

Scruffy really hates going out in the rain - probably a throwback to her life on the streets. But this morning I discovered that if I take her out the front door instead of the back, she can step on the porch, which is dry. Once she’s out there, she’ll go to the grass and squat. Silly puppeh!

Speaking of gingerbread, MamaTigs made me promise to share the recipe. This is a rapid bake bread for a Black & Decker machine and I have no idea about other machines or making bread the old-fashioned way, but here goes. (Was that enough in the Disclaimer Department??)

1 cup milk (I used 2T powdered milk and enough water to make 1 cup)
1 egg, beaten
1 T shortening (I used butter)
2 T molasses
2 T brown sugar
3/4 t salt
3 1/4 c flour
3/4 t ginger *
1/2 t cinnamon *
1/4 t ground cloves *
2 t yeast

Dump the ingredients in the order shown into the bread machine. Set for rapid bake (about 2 hours on my machine) Take it out when it’s done and eat it. It comes out bread-like rather than cake-like.

*The flavors were really subtle - if I make it again, I’ll probably double the ginger at least.
I forgot to mention that my old Navy friend (we met in training in 1973) brought me a framed photo taken in San Diego circa 1975 at the North Island Navy Flying Club where I was very active. In the background is an old biplane, and in front stand my friend, me, and Cliff Robertson. I was all of 21 in the picture - I was really teh cute back then! I’ll scan and post it when I get a chance.

For now, the house is clean and quiet, so I’m going to surf and read the funnies. Life is good.

Happy Birthday Lunch !!!

Another Sunday of work for me.
