The power of cheese....................commercials.

I have spent this afternoon baking cookies with my 3 grandkids, Sambone and Weechy, 6 year old twins and Jojobean, 3. After sampling some of the goodies, I picked out a couple of the bigger cookies to be left for Santa. Sambone then told me that she did not want to put cookies out for Santa, she wanted to put out cheese, and not the cheap stuff, some of the good stuff only Grandma and me eat. When I asked where she got that idea, she said she saw it on TV.

It’s not the power of cheese, it’s the power of the cheese commercials. And both will be left out tonight.

If you had put only cookies out and yet the presents still arrived, would that not undermine the strength of the commercial?

Sambone, Weechy and Jojobean???

Please tell me those are nicknames… cute ones, but nicknames nonetheless.

The “power of cheese” commercials jumped the shark when they changed the tag line from the majestic “Behold! The Power of Cheese!” to the mundane and pedestrian “Aahh…the power of cheese.”

mmm…cheese cookies

From Calvin and Hobbes

Calvin’s Dad: I think ‘santa’ would rather have a cold beer.

I still giggle over the one with the moon:

And we haven’t been back.

The power of cutting the cheese.

Samantha and Alicia don’t go by their nicknames much anymore, especially since they started school. Joey is still called Jojobean when he is good, but that can be a challenge for a 3 year old that wants to do the same things as his older sisters.

Incubus, Santa had a couple cold Sam Adams last night!!!

My family always left a shot of brandy out for Santa, and it sure did seem to work. The brandy was always gone in the morning, and there were always lots of presents!
