The Prisoner of Azkaban trailer is up!

As a devout Potterhead, I have only one comment.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Okay, Kizarvexius, I’m confused.

Are you BWAHAHAing because you think the teaser is totally ridiculous and awful?

Or are you BWAHAHAing because you’re excited the movie is coming out?

Or are you BWAHAHAing because you’re really You-Know-Who in disguise, and that’s just the sort of thing you Evil Overlords do?:stuck_out_tongue:

I like the trailer. It appears to be really dark, whereas the Columbus versions, in my opinion, tried to soft-pedal the nastiness that lurks around the fringes of the Rowland books. Cuaron is an interesting director, and he appears to have done something really interesting here. It’s telling, though, that the studio is casting about for a different director for number four; maybe they’re worried Cuaron has made this one too scary.

Or, possibly, all of the above?

Cervaise, you’ve voiced my thoughts. I admit to being a moderate fan of HP, but Prisoner of Azkaban was the book that made me a raging fangirl, and that was because of the darkness in it. Thinking back, there’s some really non-child-friendly bits that may nor may not have been “tactfully” filmed - Sirius slashing the curtains with the knife comes to mind, as does the way Snape treats Lupin at the end.

But I think you mean Rowling.

Oreo, if I were He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, do you think I would be so rash as to announce this rather delicate fact in such a public forum? No no no no no no. Only on a restricted thread. With multiple confundus charms to keep nosy do-gooders away.

I will, however, clear up your confusion as to the motives behind my dark lordly cackle. I think the movie looks extremely cool. Azkaban is my favorite book in the series (so far).

Maybe it’s a hybrid with Stephen King’s Dark Tower series. Harry Potter straps on a Colt, changes his name, and goes gunslinging.

Or, yeah, I could have meant Rowling. :smack:

It’s a child chorus, which means an overabundance of sopranoes… My thought is that the frogs are there to provide the bass line. Very logical way to do it, in the Harry Potter world.

It does look good, and the music is growing on me, too, even if it is repetitive and derivative.

John Williams wrote the theme tune to the Potter movies, but he didn’t arrange the music on the first two. Some other incompetent can be blamed for the overuse of the theme jingle to the point of boring. In this one, Williams will be doing it all for the first time.

I like this trailer - you can instantly see a new style is being utilised. And not only is Malfoy looking older and nastier, but did you see Neville Longbottom looks older too (he’s the kid who accidentally gives Snape the new look).

Not accidentally…

Spoiler for those who haven’t read the books I guess

It’s his Ridikuloso spell being used on a boggart, critters that take on the form of your greatest fear and can only be defeated by laughing at them basically

I thought Sirius looked a bit too lively in the WANTED poster as well. But as I recall, when the aurors showed up to arrest him after his confrontation with Pettigrew, he just stood there laughing hysterically. So since the WANTED posted has his “booking” photo, it’s appropriate.

I cannot get over how awesome this trailer looks.

WOW.

I never was a big fan of the first two Harry Potter movies. But damn does that trailer look good. I have a lot of hope for this one, what with the great director and actors (for Lupin and Black.)
I just hope this movie does justice to the third book as it’s many fan’s favorite book (although I like Order of Phoenix better).

WOW… great trailer. Made my mouth water, I tell ya!

I even liked the chorus. It contrasted nicely with the darker tone of the trailer. The Magic Bus looked like good fun as well :D.

It’s the Knight Bus, and yeah that scene looks sick. The knight bus, the scenery and even Dan Radcliffe all look so much better than what I expected.

Since someone mentioned Malfoy’s new look.

I HATE his hair. Hate it.

And is it me, or is he looking more and more like a lost Hapsburg heir?

I love that music!

ooh…I just got to see it (I wasn’t going to attempt it on my home dialup connection, but the connection on campus is much faster).
I think it looks very cool. I don’t quite get the choir singing thing, but that’s ok. Now I’m ready for it to be June!

Ooh, I had to watch it with the sound off since I’m in my office, but this looks so cool! Love the dark look. I wasn’t a huge fan of the first two movies, but this time I can’t wait (and not just because I have a raging crush on Lupin … well, OK, a little bit because I have a raging crush on Lupin).

I was trying to avoid even the slightest of spoilers. I know how rabid some can be here ::scared::

You’re not the only one. Mmm. Maybe we should start a support group.

Oh, and Max Carnage:
It’s Riddikulus.

Yes, I am a hopeless fangirl, how did you guess?
