Hey there, folks. Been a while since I’ve been able to poke my nose in here… the withdrawls are killing me.
I’ve discovered another reason to consider myself bizarre: I actually don’t much care for summer break. I mean, it kinda takes my life and puts it on hold for no good reason, and it takes me away from my friends and out of easy communication with Janel. Oh well… I’ll survive and be richer for the experience.
After all, I did get a summer job. All the studying, hard work, and concentration I’ve done over the last couple years in college have clearly paid off - this job takes advantage of everything I’ve learned. I am… wait for it… bagging at Food Lion in Garissonville, VA. :rolleyes:
It’s a decent job for all that; sure, I’m not exactly the most respected or best treated person around, but I get to see all the little kids that come through the line, and that makes it largely worthwhile. Not to mention that I can meet a lot of my siblings’ friends; the place is staffed by a great many high school students. That’s kindof fun, too.
On a side note, living at home has been eminently decent so far; all the trouble between my parents and I has abated, and we’ve reached a mutually supporting position again. Some day I will write a thread on how cool my mom is.
