I read once about a woman who was travelling by airplane, probably in the 60s, and as the passengers were getting seated, discovered that she was sitting beside Bing Crosby.
She was apparently very nervous and her body language showed it. Crosby quietly said: “Everyone has to be somewhere,” which broke the ice and they chatted for the flight.
CNN has a short video of her announcement about it. It appears that whatever the abdominal surgery was for, cancer wasn’t suspected, but I assume a subsequent biopsy revealed it. It’s not clear if the chemo she’s starting is just precautionary or if the cancer metastasized. She sounded very hopeful for a full recovery.
Poor thing, she looks tired, drained, and even thinner than usual – not surprising, given what she’s been going through. It would be nice if the tabloids and Internet ghouls would lay off her.
From what I understand the surgery went well, they tested to be sure and some cancer cells were found. They believe they got it all during the surgery, and are doing preventative chemo just in case.
I once worked in a prominent mental hospital, although not with patients. You were NOT allowed to say whether or not a certain celebrity had been resident there, even if you saw them with your own eyes. It was a firing offense, and for all I know one that could be prosecuted.
One Thanksgiving I had to work(I was a baker in the kitchen) and got to my family dinner still wearing work clothes. One of my cousin’s kids asked where I work and I told her. She got excited and said “Oh, I heard that (insert prominent singer’s name here) is there!” I had heard that rumor but I knew this person hadn’t been there, and said so. And I told the kid that even if the celeb had been there I couldn’t say.
Me, too. After posting the video where she announced the diagnosis, CNN showed a still from it where she looks frail, thin, and I’m sure very scared. I have mixed feelings about the royals but this is one person totally deserving of sympathy from us and of beneficence from whatever greater powers there may be.
Best as I can tell from Google, the source for that claim is In Touch Weekly, a celebrity gossip mag of the sort that you see in the grocery store checkstand.
I have no idea how reliable they are as a source, but I’m gonna guess “not very”.
He will get a replacement pancreas from one of the many Charles clones they are raising in the basement of Windsor castle. This will be in the next edition of the magazine.
We have indeed reached the place where no idea we can come up with is too outlandish to be promoted by some CT troll farm and heartily taken up by the idjits in their multitudes.
@Euphonious_Polemic, when this clone-of-Charles idea becomes mainstream CT thought a month from now, I hope it will weigh heavily on your conscience.
