The Religious Right and the PC Left: Two Sides of the Same Coin

I’ve long maintained that, morally and intellectually, the religious right and the PC left are on pretty much the same level. Well, here’s a couple of examples of what I mean:

An eight-year-old boy gets an in-house suspension for drawing a picture of a soldier during class:

And a Muslim girl gets harassed:

Doesn’t it just turn your stomach?

If the coin you’re thinking of is “irrational extremism”, then yes, you’re right. In fact, ANY view or philosophy that demands conformity above all else is quite flawed, IMOSHO… it assumes, without much proof, that the philosophy in question is the only correct way to live.

Holy shit! These students are disseminating ideas which diverge from the accepted thought patterns which we have designed! Children are thinking for themselves! And it’s spreading! We must stop this at once!

The great paradox. Look at the extreme examples of Right and Left in history - the U.S.S.R. and Nazi Germany.

Substitute “bourgeious” (I kin nevr spel that rite) for “Jew” and “the masses” for “the German Volk”, and there ain’t much difference between the two.

Necros, did you ever see the “Simpsons” episode where Lisa caused her teachers to press the hidden “Independent Thought” alarm button?
