Great job. I love how real it was - a bit of slop, a bit of noise on the chords as fingers moved on strings, hearing Westerberg’s voice squeak a bit when he said Big Star in the bridge. Just fun - and I love the thought of Alex Chilton and Big Star getting a great name-check on the Tonight Show, although 99.9% of those viewing were probably thinking “what the heck is that song about??”
I thought the same thing, WordMan- it surprised me that they played Alex Chilton but it was pretty cool to see Westerberg, an elder statesman of alternative rock, sing a song he wrote about one of his biggest influences.
