The "Report this post to a moderator" function

  1. If I use the “report this post to a moderator” button, does the e-mail/message that’s sent out link to the specific offending post? In other words, if I use that feature, should I put a link to the post in the message?

  2. Would a mod/admin show the sort of thing you get as a response to that button? I’m vaguely curious!

Thanks!

It includes a link to the thread and to the post. I don’t have an example handy but I can send you out one later.

This is the reason that the user gave:
Offensive post and username from another Nazi.

This message has been sent to all moderators of this forum, or all administrators if there are no moderators.

Please respond to this post as applicable.

That’s the whole thing. By the way, those links will take ya nowhere; I have deleted the offending post.

Does every Moderator/Admin/Perfect Master get a copy of the email, or just the forum ones?

Just the forum ones.

Aw, shoot, :frowning: I had this cool mental image of there being a sort of SuperForum somewhere, like an Amber Alert highway sign, where all the “Report this post to moderator” posts go, and whenever the mods are cruising the boards, they also have this little window open that shows the SuperForum, like a javascript popup box, and whenever a “Report this post to moderator” post shows up in the SuperForum, it lights up the window (“ding!”), and whatever mod is closest races over there and extinguishes the offending post.

So, no, huh? Oh, well, I can dream…
