The Republican circus just gets more and more hilarious. Obama's re-election to follow.

Indeed, discerning and acute Virginia Republicans will see through this sham in an instant! Both of them, I daresay!

We probably need a t-shirt like that this time around.

Then don’t you think it might make sense for some people to either support candidates that represent their views (like Nader or Kucinich or Bachman or Perry)?

Virginia has an open primary system. There’s not really a Democratic primary race this year in my district, I think I’ll go vote for Not Romney.

Either that, or what?

If it weren’t for the fact that the President gets to nominate the supremes, I’m not sure why its so important that Obama be president rather than send a message that we want a more progressivivity in the Democratic party.

Well, let me ask you this: do you want to go to war with Syria?

Did you want to go to war with Libya?

We’ve always been at war with Syrlibia.

From Google News headlines:

Romney, Paul at top in Iowa as Santorum rises

We’ve all known these headlines were coming, but it’s still funny. And ewwww. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, it appears that Santorum is finally bubbling up as the not-Romney.

No, that’s Iranqistan. Syrlibia is an ally. Syrlibia has always been an ally.

Remember W? Yes, it’s important.

Can you hear that calliope music playing a little louder?

The first primary hasn’t even happened yet, but it’s still like watching a group of kids try and play musical chairs on both sides of a revolving door.

Uh oh! Looks like Perry is not going gentle into that good night…

Perry sues to get on the Virginia ballot:

Amazing how Republicans are all about “states’ rights” until the state law trips them up. Then they cry to Uncle Sam’s Big Evil Federal Gubmint to fix things for them. :dubious:

This is getting fun to watch.

I wouldn’t mind a Libya type involvement in Syria.

Me neither, but Syria is a much tougher nut to crack. The army is not marginalized and incompetent like Gaddafi’s army was. If our intervention started with air-support only, it might not stay there, there’s always the temptation to go just a little further in hopes Assad will finally break this time . . .

Santorum '12: The Word Is Spreading!

A little off topic I guess, but one thing The Oval Office has going for it are two major conflicts conducted very differently. GW-I had a very clearly-defined, realistic mission and exit conditions and is reasonably lauded as a successful operation. GW-II had a clearly-defined mission as well, but was not conducted efficiently and the exit conditions were either not defined or were ignored, resulting in a bit of a boondoggle.

Good recent history for a president to keep in mind when considering just what to do with Syria.

GW-II certainly did not have a clearly-defined mission, at least not once it began.

I believe GW-II was:
Mission: Find WMDs. An while you’re there, Git Saddam! Oh, and now Saddam’s been got, set up a [del]US-friendly dictatorship[/del] Democratic government.
Means: Roto-till Iraq looking for him and some bio/chem weaponry he refuses to prove he doesn’t have
Goals met looks like: * coffee stain *
