I do believe that at least some Democrats would rather just have the issue, especially Democrats for whom voting for immigration reform is a tough vote for them, but also for Democrats who want to legalize the illegal population but fear the results of better enforcement on their constituents(like Raul Grijalva or Gutierrez).
That’s nice. If there’s every any data to back up your belief here, do rush back and let us all know.

You can’t prove what’s in people’s heads.
But you sure can idly speculate about it!

Which has been considered fair game in politics since before America. Democrats have certainly accused Republicans of bad motives with little or no evidence. Right now you have them saying that we want a shutdown when that’s pretty much the last thing we want. I’d respond that Democrats want a shutdown because they think the politics works for them.

And that’s just pathetic. No doctor should pander on an issue that is currently causing spikes in dangerous diseases affecting children.
And Vox proves once again that it occupies the kiddie table of fact-checkers. There wasn’t one thing in that article that was a ‘fact’. It was basically someone being incredulous that Fiorina’s ideas were good ones. That’s a fair debate to have, but disagreeing with Fiorina’s strategy does not make her a liar or mean that she has no idea what she’s talking about.
And for that matter, the Ezra Klein is the one who needs some remedial foreign policy education. Take this response:
A writer who doesn’t know the difference between force projection and nuclear deterrence should not be writing on military subjects. Saying the Sixth Fleet is big enough because America has nuclear weapons is a total non-sequitur. And while Ezra’s opinion may be that the sixth fleet is ‘huge’, that’s just his opinion. That doesn’t make Fiorina a liar
<snipped, for brevity >
For Klein to not understand this is pretty pathetic for someone trying to write professionally on foreign policy and military matters.
I agree that he is guilty on many applets-to-oranges comparisons, but I think The Washington Post’s Joe Pincus does a breakdown of how thin her proposals are that is better than Ezra’s.

Apparently you give a shit since you’ve decided to shit… err, I mean “post” in this thread about it. :rolleyes:

Well, proving that they have a liberal bias isn’t hard, the site is all prominent liberal bloggers and they almost never come down on the side of conservatives on any issue of dispute.
That being said, they are a fantastic site that does what they claim: they explain the news. But their bias is indisputable.
OK, what issues should they have come down on the side of conservatives, that they didn’t?
It’s really gotten beyond what running coach suggested. Conservatives all too often aren’t so much just wrong, as not even coherent enough to be right or wrong. Dems have detailed policy proposals, conservatives say “Bomb Iran!” or “Build a wall!” or “tax cuts will pay for themselves!” or some other nonsense. Sloganeering and arm-waving, and being against whatever libruls are for, updated daily.
