You honestly don’t think that conservatives, watching Democrats give their vision, see it as “they’re telling us how they plan to build Liberaltopia”?
I don’t check the news every few minutes, and I don’t use social media (other than this MB) so I missed this one.
Considering their recent promotion for the debate looked like a commercial promoting a boxing match, I don’t think you’re far off.
Prediction- Trump doesn’t lose any ground, but gets a lot less wild cheers given the establishment crowd of this round, Paul, Bush, Fiorina go on the attack.
I think Jeb just needs to get thru this debate without making any major flubs. He’s wisely biding his time until Trump defecates on one too many “real” conservative ideas, and takes his show back to TV. Then, Jeb will be the legitimate frontrunner. I have a hard time accepting that primary voters will end up supporting Trump once it’s time to pull the handle.
Jeb can afford to let Trump have the spotlight for now - he can let Trump win the battle, but he’ll be out of the war soon enough.
Agree with BrainGlutton - and loving the irony of these idjits attacking one another out on the open at the Reagan library. Let’s see if anyone will take the high road.
We expect everyone on stage at least have their mistakes of the last debate read to them. Some will learn something and adjust accordingly, some will not.
Trump doesn’t really have to change anything. He’s still topping the polls. I expect more of the same entertaining bullshit from him.
Guys dropping like rocks in the polls should be expected to do something, but what that something is might be more of the same but more extreme. For example, Walker just came out with a plan to turn labor back a hundred years. I expect him to double down on that and crow about how anti-union he is. I don’t expect anyone will pay attention because even his face looks like he’s half asleep.
I think its too early to radically change things up. Bush is a bad campaigner and I don’t expect him to radically alter his approach considering this is only the 2nd debate and he has plenty of money to fall back on. He’ll still try to be the adult in the room and remind everyone about his policies when no one is listening, and he’ll still get low marks after the election. Once he starts losing donors, he’ll change up his approach, not before. He’ll be playing it safe and trying to coast on his name and pedigree
I think Carson will continue to try to deflect any questions about Trump, though it would be harder with him right up on stage next to him. His attacks will come as hard as a back massage, and probably go on Twitter afterwards to apologize for his tone
Fiorina I can see hammering Trump. She’s been on of the few that has attacked Trump and emerged stronger. I think she won’t be shy talking about how she’ll be better than Trump in everyway because she’s a businessperson too
Cruz has been trying to latch onto Trump for weeks now, I think he’s positioning himself as Trump’s VP but I also think Trump sees through that obvious bullshit.
Huckabee is my odds on favorite to mention Kim Davis. With Santorum not in it, he’s the evangelical pick. He’ll be all folksy and aww-shucks but his social policies are a terror on anyone who doesn’t agree with him
To be perfectly honest, I haven’t heard or seen Rand Paul since the last debate. Has he done anything at all? I’ve not read one article on him regarding appearances or speeches. If he doesn’t do something memorable, he’s gone in the next debate
Christie only knows how to be Christie. I think he’ll keep trying to attack Trump and the media will feast it up as it plays into the narrative that he’s a bully
That leaves Kasich and Rubio (honestly I had forgotten about them, had to look them up). I don’t know how Kasich will do, he’s not at the bottom but he’s not on top either. And Rubio reminds me of Paul, haven’t seen him since the last debate, but apparently he’s trying to be the adult as well like Bush, only browner and younger. He has a decent sized donor list right? But he’s so bland and boring, blah blah blah, nobody cares about your dad and Cuba.
That sounds like a pretty good strategy. Though I bet those two are hoping the other candidates don’t also think of it.
So far best proposal of the undercard debate is Lindsay Graham’s promise that there’ll be more bipartisan drinking in Washington.
That explains where he got his 20% flat tax from.
Just listening to the undercard is doing horrible things to my blood pressure.
WTF, did Cruz just quibble over whether he was the first or last senator named? God, what a thin-skinned little prick
So, everyone seems to have agreed to stick to the lie that Planned Parenthood sells fetal parts for profit.
Wow, Cruz and then the other Republicans do not mind that the Planned Parenthood tapes were edited to make them sound like illegal activities were going on.
They need to cut the mikes when time runs out. That might get these idiots to actually answer the question in the time they have.
Carly just zinged The Donald.
Well, Fiorina did get the crowd going against Trump when she replied about what Trump had said about her “persona”.
And brought the house down.
Carly rocked that.
Oh my god, I’m already feeling the need for a Xanax.
Carly’s remark was perfect.
Trump just said, “…the good ones…”
Been a while since we heard from Rubio and instead of speaking from the heart, he tells us a memorized story. Is it just me or does that sound totally insincere?
Also, can. Ben. Carson. speak. any. slower?
Why is there an airplane in the Reagan Library?
Trump thinks (or says) the U.S. is “one of the only countries” in the world with a jus soli citizenship law.
