Pence and Trump are holding a reception at the Great Lakes Science Center.
I’ll just leave that there.

Quick show of hands:
Anyone else out there not really give two shits if she lied about writing it herself or whether she (or someone) plagiarized it?
Granted, I am glad that it shows that he does not have absolute control over the media cycle, and glad that it took away a bit of an opportunity to repeat the handful of rather inane talking points (to say nothing of the blatant lies). But this was a minor point-and-laugh at the oopsie thing or a smirk at yet another sign that Trump isn’t as politically savvy as he is reality television savvy thing.
I’m not excoriating anyone for talking about it (although some of the logical contortionists do need a gentle pat on the head and a “aren’t you precious” comment), just wondering if anyone else kept skimming through all the Rickrollgate comments looking for something else.
Its silly as compared to dark and scary. Bit of a relief. Fleeting, you may be sure.
The roll call is starting at this moment. It may be interesting if some use the “secret phrase” tactic.
I’m waiting to hear Rule 37 (I believe it is) invoked.
ETA And Ryan is explaining how invoking rue 37 will go - the poll will be done by the Secretary. It doesn’t sound like it will be public, exactly.
Sounds like a good way to inflate your crowd numbers: Pop in unannounced at a museum when it’s not only doing a free admission day, but actually busing in people for it.
They’re making a point of announcing bound delegates.
And the blame game has begun. Which speechwriter will be thrown under the bus?
If only they were gagged too.
Odd?
Dubya’s speechwriter weighs in on Melania’s plagiarism or “rhetorical dependence” as he calls it. I like his answers which are very business-like and to the point. The opposite of what I would expect from a speechwriter.
No rule 37 for Colorado - but 2 delegates abstained,
I think his answer to “who, ultimately was to blame?” was spot on:
DC was 10 Rubio, 9 Kasich, 0 Trump- and was recorded as 19 for Trump. The DC delegates are not happy with the way the rules were applied.
Iowa has the ‘hardest working senator’ in Chuck Grassley, the guy who won’t hold hearings on the Supreme Court
Did I miss a memo? They’re officially confirming all votes cast for non-candidates.
Pursuant to the rules of this convention, shut the hell up, DC, and you’re casting your votes the way we say you are.
The next question: apparently, they will need a 2/3 majority by voice vote to nominate Trump “unanimously.” Will they need to take Michael Moore’s advice and have Trump supporters standing next to the microphones?
Michigan passes? What was that?
Possibly to leave it up to New York to put Trump over the top.
Yeah, I believe that’s traditional (for both parties–we’ll see it for Hillary, too).
Tonight’s festivities open with the ever popular “two minutes hate”.
