The Republican national Convention

Meh, they are Republicans, after all.

It’s worth reading the official GOP convention schedule for each night, just for the capsule bios of the speakers. For example:

The links: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.

Is it traditional to refer to the nominee as “the presumptive nominee” during the convention?

Mike Huckabee pulled out from speaking at the command of Fox News.

Leslie Rutledge is the first Republican Arkansas Attorney General since reconstruction.

Is Reconstruction all done in Arkansas?

Fixed link.

Did they ever start?

If anyone has uverse, they have channels dedicated to the RNC and the DNC conventions (1211 and 1212). I checked out the RNC at lunch. Looks like everything from the podium is being covered. Priebus was calling for votes on a bunch of boring shit. Could be good for entertainment without commentary in the evening.

So who is the keynote speaker?

Gentlepersons, one cannot help but notice the glaring absence of Trump supporters in this, and other, threads. Given that the man has huge popularity…huge, mind you!..one can draw no other conclusion but conspiracy! There’s something going on here!

I would remind that our founding document celebrates our perversity! Even as we laud ourselves for being the smartest and hippest, we also accept the minority presence of…and I quote!..“total dipsticks”. Another example of the shame of literal hypocrisy, and I mean that liberally!

Free the Dipsticks!

The First Arkansas Cavalry, C.S.A., fought the First Arkansas Cavalry, U.S.A. in Fayettville, AR in 1863. I’m not sure how that influenced Reconstruction.

Not at all familiar with Ohio laws, but poking around on the internet a bit suggests that state law simply does not address open carry, except in a few cases, and therefore it is unregulated. To change that, and create an offence of open carry generally, would presumably require a new law from the Legislature, not simply an executive order from the Governor.

Try this site. Section 9.68 - Ohio Revised Code | Ohio Laws

Since I am going nowhere near this, and cant do anything about it anyway, I am content to let Darwinism take its course.

Tuesday, presumably in the 10-11 PM Eastern timeslot, so all of the networks can carry it.

What state is expected to put Trump “over the top”? If it’s New Jersey, then somebody had better count the delegates to see if the states before NJ have enough Trump delegates to do this (a few would pass if they have too many) - otherwise they have to go through the entire list and then go back to states that would have to pass a second time.

Here’s Colbert’s RNC Bingo. Click to refresh; “Stone-faced Chris Christie” is my fave: http://www.cbs.com/shows/the-late-show-with-stephen-colbert/convention-bingo/?nm

Womack just gaveled the adoption of the rules and walked off the stage. I thought signatures would force a roll call vote, but I guess not.

Now, he’s back for a another voice vote.

Here’s a list of the scheduled speakers for each day.

Monday’s delights include Willie Robertson, Tom Cotton, Rick Perry, Scott Baio and Melania Trump.
Is there a list somewhere of just the musical acts? I was curious about the tamborine man just before the rules adoption lady.

Brilliant! :D:D:D
