Wrong link?
I would guess so, but I couldn’t find the right one in the Aviation thread
dang it!
Listening to Senator Tim Scott being interviewed over his endorsement of Donald Trump was disgusting.
The usual Republican spin about how things were better under Trump is bad enough. Then he was asked about statements from his campaign launch where he contrasted “Victimhood or Victory?” and “Grievance or Greatness?”
Sounds a lot like a contrast to Trump, but now he says he meant Biden.
Then he talked about DAs in some cities choosing not to prosecute some low level crimes, and that Biden is just letting that happen. Right, he is, because that is a State issue, not a federal one. You know, states’ rights and all that crap that Republicans claim is important to them? Until states do something they don’t like.
The interviewer could barely get him to say that the Jan 6 rioters being prosecuted under the law are not “hostages” like Trump says. And she should have pushed harder about Trump’s promise to Pardon them all.
Typical politician. Typical Republican.
He wants a job. As the GQP tacks directly into overt racism (that ship has already sailed Steve - oooh, another boating reference), his South Carolina voters will torpedo his future there. So he’s trying to board the SS Trump for one final cruise before the rats leave.
VP candidate? I mean, they’re not a racist party. (I’m semi- serious about the VP question.)
At this point, with all the shit that has happened, all the lies that have been told and all the instant kissing of Trump’s ass from former candidates, is there any reason to respect Republicans out in the world or even on this board? At this point their idea of compromise is “I’m in Seattle and you’re in Brooklyn, so lets meet in the middle…in Tacoma.”
Nah, the Republican idea of compromise would be somewhere in the Pacific Ocean.
For us, while they stood on the shore throwing us anchors.
They ain’t gonna grift themselves!
The founder of “Libs of TikTok” has been named to the library advisory committee of Oklahoma’s Department of Education. There have also been bomb threats against a school and a children’s hospital attributed to her account after she “called them out”.
So this non-librarian, non-educator, non-Oklahoman has been appointed as an advisor to the Oklahoma Board of Education’s library committee.
I guess anyone can be an advisor.
You know, the right is always yelling about the left’s “woke agenda”, but they are the ones pushing a political agenda.
I also wonder how you make school libraries safe for children with bomb threats.
The phrase “every accusation is a confession” rings true yet again.
I take it “Libs Of Tik Tok” are actually insane conservatives.
Clever. Very clever.
Yeah, it’s a personified strawman.
But if you were to mention this to them, they’d rebut with Hunter Biden and Burisma.
Sure, but it’s irrelevant. Burisma was a foreign corporation, not a US state agency. State agencies are bound by different laws than corporations.
But I answered my own question. While Board membership may be defined and controlled, I think it’s probably standard for committees to get outside advisors.
Well, if the kids aren’t allowed in the library, it’s perfectly safe.
This one’s both evil and stupid: allegedly Nancy Mace (I don’t know how trustworthy The Daily beast is) wanted to leave her office on Jan 6th and get “punched in the face” for the cameras. A real go-getter for media attention.
First question is if she’s a Republican firebrand, why does she think they would want to punch her?
Second, she sounds very competent to provide the motivationto punch her in the face, but then
Third, what would limit them to just punching her in the face? Or just one punch?
Seems a real deep thinker.
