The scarier thought is if he was raised in an ordinary home and turned out this way regardless.
Out of curiosity: are you figuring that he believes this, or that he doesn’t?
More Republican malarky towards trans candidates-
Another trans candidate in Ohio faces disqualification vote for omitting deadname - ABC News
He probably hasn’t given it much thought one way or the other. The point is he knows his base will eat it up, that’s all that matters.
Two of the three front-runners to be the Republican 2024 presidential candidate are absolute morons (I’ll reserve judgement on Haley since I haven’t noticed quite as much dumbassery that I’ve seen from the other two). And Republicans love it! Evil and stupid.
Any time one of these nitwits spews this bullshit, I’d love to ask him just how much of modern medical practice he’d be willing to do without. Hey, man, whyncha stick to faith healing?
I don’t think he believes this; I think he’s referring to something I’ve read recently, but misconstruing it. I don’t think it counted all unvaccinated deaths or something. I may be wrong, and may have gotten bad info, but I don’t think he’s completely pulling it out of his ass.
Horseshit!
They should give up everything that they own that has to do with science - they reject it so much. Such hypocrites.
And he’s hoping the other loon’s base will wander over to his trough for a taste.
“MY SHIT’S BETTER THAN YOUR SHIT!”
Dan
He’s also trying to gaslight people.
He claims a little later in that clip:
…When the MNRA (sic) shots came out, they said with a very short lead time “oh yeah, you know, no problem, you can’t have any questions”, and that’s just not the way these things go…
Gee Ron, before I got my first Covid jab and after every single booster since - and every vaccination I ever remember getting - I’ve had to sign a sheet of paper that discusses possible side effects and reactions to the vaccine. For the Covid jab there was a piece of paper that told me it was being distributed via an Emergeny Use Authorization. And this is true of you and anyone you were talking to in this clip who got vaccinated.
You might not have read it because of all the multisyllable words, but I guarantee you signed it.
The party that bothers me the most is the headline. He doesn’t “baselessly claim…” he’s just fucking lying.
I really wish clowns like this could be charged and convicted for practicing medicine without a license.
How often do you want to bet this obscure law is ever enforced against a cis male Republican?
On the other hand in what appears to be an unusual bout of temporary sanity, The Republican Governor, supported changing the law.
But Republican Gov. Mike DeWine said Tuesday that the law should be amended and county boards should stop disqualifying transgender candidates on these grounds. DeWine did not say how it might be amended.
“We shouldn’t be denying ballot access for that reason,” the governor told Cleveland.com’s editorial board. “It certainly should be fixed.”
But before we give him too much credit he’s still a dick.
DeWine recently vetoed a proposed ban on gender-affirming care for minors, but the state House overrode that veto. The Senate is expected to do the same next week.
I cynically wonder if the reason he’s supporting changing the law is that he thinks that these Trans Democratic candidates will be easier to beat and so doesn’t want them excluded from the nomination.
He’s a dick for vetoing an anti trans bill?
Never. IIRC, the law includes an automatic exemption from providing one’s birth name if one is using a different name due to marriage.
Sorry I misread that. Somehow I got the impression that he proposed the bill. So he does seem to be overall a fairly decent person for a Republican.
I knew one of us had!
