They really don’t think of these people trying to get asylum as people. You don’t separate people from their kids, you don’t joke about murdering them if you’re an elected official, you don’t stick them on a bus and move them to some random place just to troll the libs – not if you consider them fully human.

Tim Ballard, an anti-sex trafficking activist and the inspiration for the movie “Sound of Freedom”, is facing new sexual assault charges in California from his former assistant. He at one time considered a run for the Senate, but I don’t know more about that part.
This is probably not a perfect fit for the thread, since the perpetrator is but it isn’t worth starting a new thread, and this is probably the best place for it.
The Baltimore Sun an excellent paper which has won 16 Pulitzer prizes has been bought by David D. Smith, executive chairman of the Sinclair broadcasting, the evil corporation is that trying to buy up all local news and turn them into a homoginized far right cheerleaders.
Smith is reported as saying he dislikes and fundamentally distrusts print media. He said the industry is so left wing as to be meaningless and that accounts for its decline, and according to NPR despite living in the area for decades says he’s only read the paper about 4 times.
Chances are he’s going to do the same thing to it that Musk has done to X, try to turn it into his vision of a profit making venture and in the process destroy everything that’s gave it value and drive it into the ground.
I read that article, and it mentioned the “couples ruse”, with some vague and confusing remark about it being different than described by Ballard.
Followed a link to another article all about Ballard’s operation with OUR, and one woman’s experience that left her not only disillusioned with Ballard and OUR, with a dismal opinion about their tactics, but with her left eye orbit shattered in a “training” event that was dubious in value.
Reading that article gives a lot of credence to the sexual assault charges. The part in particular about the “couples ruse” is that it’s supposed to be a way to give cover for male operatives to not have to perform sex acts in front of human traffickers by having a woman operative present to be a wife or girlfriend who won’t let them partake. Which sounds really odd when the male operative is requesting sex parties and more exotic stuff.
As the woman from the article describes, Ballard insisted that the operatives remain in character even behind closed doors not with any potential traffickers, and that they practice touching and other couples behavior so they would be comfortable acting in the role.
She’s also highly critical of the completely amateur operations and no connections with law enforcement.
This sucks. My father worked at the Sun for almost 40 years, and I hate to see this happening to a once great paper. Sinclair is the spawn of the devil and has been on my Destroyers of Democracy themed death pool list for years.
My home town has more than its share of problems, including perennially corrupt (usually Democratic) leaders. It doesn’t need its main paper turning into a Trump mouthpiece.

Daddy hit him too much and didn’t show him enough love, so he has to take it out on the rest of humanity, is what I’m guessing. I wish I had 5 minutes of his attention, so I could ask him how people like him exist.
