The Republican Party is the Party of Evil

And reopen all those Florida coal mines.

Evil, stupid, and greedy for headlines, PA Sen. Dawn Keefer filmed herself setting fire to a representation of Gov. Shapiro’s budget with a flamethrower, comparing it to the Whisky Rebellion. I’m sure it’s a coincidence that the Governor’s mansion was firebombed not too long ago. (Sorry, I couldn’t immediately find a non-paywalled version of the story.)

Here you go. The story includes the video.

Keefer bears a strong resemblance to Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Dang it, I saw that but wasn’t sure how to make it “free” instead of “subscriber”. Thank you!

Big bank stiffs customers, Trump’s lackey at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau folds and walks away.

New York AG James to the rescue - I hope.

The complaint mimics litigation by the CFPB, which was dropped in February under Trump-era CFPB Acting Director Russell Vought. That suit alleged Capital One’s marketing led U.S. customers to miss out on more than $2 billion in interest.

The dropped CFPB case is among a slew of other enforcement lawsuits that the agency pursued under previous CFPB Director Rohit Chopra, and that have been dismissed by President Donald Trump’s administration.

GOP confirms that women are just incubators.

Bonus, they gain a live baby they can vilify as a deadbeat and ignore it’s future needs.

Trump pushes ethnic cleansing in Gaza.

Well yes, I mean, they’ve already been forced out of one homeland, they should be used to it by now. It’s not like they will miss this one.

Keefer bears a strong resemblance to Marjorie Taylor Greene.

I have familiarity with York County. It’s always been ultra-conservative, but in recent years has been electing people like her who are completely off the rails.

Former Governor Tom Wolf, a Democrat who grew up and ran a successful business in York County, didn’t win there either time he ran for Governor. That shows how little chance any Democrat has of winning in that county. That’s how you end up with people like Dawn Keefer, and she’s not among the craziest people who have appeared on the ballot.

Verizon bends the knee.

In 2019, the Texas legislature passed a bill to shield hate speech by MAGA protesters. Today, they rolled back their own law to make it easier to prosecute pro-Palestinian protesters.

This is here because all Republicans are complicit by letting it happen.

I remember when Elon Musk and others claimed that there was no evidence of him killing kids.

American kids. All those furriners are waste, fraud, and abuse, by definition.

From Fear Itself’s link:

Under the new legislation, members of a university community would not be allowed to use microphones or any other device to amplify sound while protesting during class hours if it intimidates others or interferes with campus operations, a university employee or a peace officer doing their job. The bill prohibits protesting in the last two weeks of the semester in the common outdoor areas of a campus “in a manner that materially or substantially disrupts the function of the institution” by inviting speakers to speak, using a device to amplify sound or using drums or other percussive instruments. It prohibits protesting on campus between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.

Students would also be barred from erecting encampments, taking down an institution’s U.S. flag to put up another nation’s or organization’s banner and wearing disguises to avoid being identified while protesting or to intimidate others.

Finally, students and university employees at a campus protest would be required to present proof of their identity and status with the university when asked by a university official.

So any commonsense limitation of the 2nd Amendment is A VIOLATION OF MY RIGHTS UNDER THE CONSTITUTION, but any limitation on the 1st Amendment are ok. If only the Evil Republicans held the right to protest as sacred as the right to bear arms.

That’s because the Bill of Rights specifically says “bear arms” but nothing about “bear voice amplifiers”.

And protesting is okay, but we can’t have people assembling freely. That infringes on other people’s right to not assemble.

Short story (and its stupid):

Kash Patel tells Joe Rogan that he went looking around FBI HQ and found a secret room that no one knew about and it was FILLED with all the evidence that proved all sorts of right wing conspiracy theories and he’ll show the proof to everyone ANY DAY NOW.

I didn’t see/hear the podcast or whatever but I suspect Kash was higher than Elon was on that blunt.

Right. That’s totally believable. I mean, not about Comey, but I totally believe that Trump would do that - keep a hidden room with all of the evidence that proves his wrongdoing, stored for future referrence.

“I’ll believe it when I see it,” and even then I probably won’t believe it unless it’s vetted by non-MAGA sources.

A. Hey Mr. Comey, we have all these files left after the Hillary investigation. You know, all the ones showing classified data leaks and intent to give information to America’s enemies. What do you want me to do with them? I can shred all this and then put it through the incinerator if you like. Then nobody will ever see it again.

B. No, let’s make a secret storage room hidden in the back of records. Make sure it isn’t detectable. We can then put this there in case I ever have to investigate cover up Hillary in the future.

A. Hey Mr. Comey, we got ahold of Hunter Biden’s laptop. It’s got those emails and check receipts showing how Joe Biden was taking bribes for political favors. Should I brick the device to make sure this never comes out?

B. Oh good gracious no, put it in that special room with the Hillary stuff.

A. But what would you want go do that?

B. Well it wouldn’t be right to destroy evidence. But a coverup is just fine.

A. Hey Mr. Comey, here are all those stolen ballots from the 2020 election with Trump’s name and a bunch of receipts for all the payments to fake voters. I know, put them in the room. But why not destroy all this?

B. Hey, I’m a good civil servant, I have to keep accurate records for the correct retention periods. But nobody said where I have to keep them.

High? He was just lying. You don’t need to take drugs to make up stories like this to pander to the base. OTOH, if Joe Rogan believed it then he may have been high.

I believe I’ve heard of Mike Lee, and what I heard wasn’t complimentary. But this is just a deeply shitty thing to say about the shootings. Of course, he’ll deny any “untoward” meaning and there will be no consequences.

Lee’s “Nightmare On Waltz Street” post is even more loathsome.
