Yeah, this was not specifically about the Alabama houses. They are just a case example of who was benefitting from the Biden-era programs and now are losing out.
That said… as you may know I had been in DC working in part on recovery issues in PR and as I was handling some projects adjacent to this sort of matters I was telling folks I worked with that I knew exactly what was going to happen the day a hardline GOP admin would come along and see these programs explicitly labeled as “Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities” and all the talk in official and unofficial communications about “Environmental Justice”. Sad to say I was right.
Also, hookworms can’t affect you unless your miasma is bad.

I just reread my post, and I should have said I’m NOT looking for revenge. As much as one may see that as ‘slip’… logistically, and even emotionally, after the anger settles, I truly don’t want anyone to suffer. That’s probably a large portion of how we ended up here. We definitely have a right to be pissed, but historically, people don’t seem to make the best decision in that state.
I’d like to extend my sympathy to all of the people on here who approach things humanistically and compassionatly, in general. Either you’re being directly affected by hate, or you’re just watching it unfold helplessly. Empathy is important.
