I very much doubt they have that kind of introspection. Or any knowledge of history. Or frankly give a shit about their hypocrisy (they clearly don’t see it, or don’t care).
They do see it. One of the core principles of the modern Republican Party is hypocrisy. The other is white supremacy.
To be fair, as a liberal of the free to be you and me generation who was taught that everyone is pretty much the same deep inside, the revelation over the past year that 20-30% of European-Americans either think that I’m literally a Satanic child murderer or wholeheartedly support the violent overthrow of the government doesn’t exactly raise my gut feelings about the rest of humanity either.
Evil, yes. But I think it’s the general stupidity that will ensure that Republicans will continue to lose the two youngest generations’ votes by 25-30 points. Stupidity is not cool.
On the “fear of being mistreated the way minorities were mistreated” point , I recently stumbled across a Limbaugh transcript from 2012 that said exactly that. Only Rush (still dead!) phrased it: “Be afraid that you’re going to be treated the way they’ve always CLAIMED they were treated.” Funny that.

I suspect the people they have contracted to carry out the recount have no ethics or morals. The election officials that certified the results were Republicans. Why keep them out of the recount?

I’m sure that most of the Trumpists don’t consider the capitol police to be real cops. Real cops would have joined the protesters and busted some liberal heads.
All Trumpists know that the folks who attended the Trump rally were different people from the Antifa leftist bad guys who attacked the capitol and killed those wonderful patriotic R-voting policemen.
Every bit of media they consider “trustworthy” they’ve seen on or since Jan 6 has told them that. It is the truth insofar as they know.
