Party planks - FEAR, HATRED, GREED, FEAR, HATRED, ENVY; did I mention FEAR AND HATRED?
Where are the damn sane republicans?

Those went out of production quite some time ago. No demand.
What few that remain are insisting that they are the REAL Republican Party, blind to the fact that they have as much influence in the GOP as do the Log Cabin Republicans…if not less.
Since they get roundly criticized as RINOs I don’t see what’s in it for them. Is the lure of perpetual power that strong?
I’m getting a whiff of the Weimar elites using the brown shirts to clean out the Communists and Socialists, then edging them out of power… only it didn’t work out that way.
In researching my Republican Freakout thread, I came across this beaut from 2011. Their detachment from reality and morality has been a long, long process.
(The thread itself may not contain any new insights, I bring it up merely to show how long their intellectual and moral deconstruction has been occurring.)
‘Borderline clowns’, pre-MTG, pre-Trump, hell, 2011 was pre-Cruz.
Are borderline clowns mimes?
Some of the Republiquins involved “cannot recall” some of the conversations and events.
Silent minority.
Only if they pretend to be trapped by an invisible border.
This seems just a little evil.
If it happens, I’m sorry.
A LITTLE?
Yes, it’s a complete sentence. Fuck you, Discourse.
EDIT: Nevermind, wrong thread. This isn’t the thread to discuss the decision.
They will call them D&C’s…

Tennessee, Florida, et al lawmakers discovering the horrors of children’s books’ content:
Storyteller: (sitting with large children’s book, at desk) Hello, Children, hello. Here is this morning’s story. Are you ready? Then we’ll begin. (opens book; reads) 'One day Ricky the magic Pixie went to visit Daisy Bumble in her tumbledown cottage. He found her in the bedroom. Roughly he gabbed her heavy shoulders pulling her down on to the bed and ripping off her…; (reads silently, turns over page quickly, smiles) ‘Old Nick the Sea Captain was a rough tough jolly sort of fellow. He loved the life of the sea and he loved to hang out down by the pier where the men dressed as ladies…’ (reads on silently; a stick enters vision and pokes him; he starts and turns over page) … 'Rumpletweezer ran the Dinky Tinky shop in the foot of the magic oak tree by the wobbly dumdum bush in the shade of the magic glade down in Dingly Dell. Here he sold contraceptives and … discipline?.. naked? … (without looking up, reads a bit; then, incredulously to himself) With a melon !?
J.R. Majewski defeated two sitting Ohio legislators and will now compete against a Democratic incumbent in a district President Trump would have won by three points in 2020.
Totally normal political party, the GOP. Totally normal.
Greg “Unfunny” Gutfeld vs. Geraldo “Capone’s Vault” Rivera got into a shouting match on the Five. When you’re agreeing with Geraldo, things are getting weird.
Republicans want to rewrite the history of anti-abortion violence in America. Let's roll the tapes.
Projection, outright lies, murder.
"…While the anti-abortion crowd didn’t burn down SCOTUS, they did burn down the homes of abortion providers and abortion clinics. And since 1977, there have been at least 11 murders and 26 attempted murders of abortion providers; there have been 42 bombings of clinics and homes; there were 194 incidents of arson, including burning down a Planned Parenthood clinic in Tennessee just this past New Year’s Eve.
The National Abortion Federation, which has the most extensive tracking system of these incidents, also reported “thousands of incidents of criminal activities directed at abortion providers” since 1977. This could mean shooting in Colorado Springs that left three people dead and wounded nine others, or the trespassing charges laid against anti-abortion protesters who invade clinics and harass patients and staff alike. In the past decade, there have been nearly 6,000 incidents of “trespassing,” including the people charged on suspicion of invading a D.C. clinic last October."
I’m so old I remember when they bombed the Olympics.

Quote from former President Shit-For-Brains in the linked article:
“And he’s a great guy and he’s in there fighting for whatever the hell he’s fighting for. I don’t care.”
I mean, it’s not exactly an endorsement…
