The Republican Party is the Party of Evil

[Tom Lehrer] Two, four, six, eight. time to transubstantiate!

Evidently wristbands are the new tattoos.

Not that this doesn’t sound bad but, this is the same tech that I’m seeing on my latest hospital ID bracelet.

Yeah this seems to be much ado about nothing. If you are processing a large number of people Keeping their files on a computer database associated with a bar code braclet makes sure it doesn’t get lost. Given the lousy track record that ICE has in keeping track of people this is probably a step in the right direction. Claiming that these some how track to asylum seeker’s movements is in loony uncle conspiracy theory territory.

The articles suggest these are from the Texas Division of Emergency Management, not ICE. When their boss is running for reelection on an anti-immigration platform, you should be hearing a dogwhistle.

Isn’t this the same type shit the far-right is afraid the govmint is gonna do to THEM?

I hear the ringing of the irony bell! Or is it the hypocrisy bell? I hear a bell…

A bunch of ding-dongs, anyway.

Craven Republican category.
Seems abortion rights are favored by 70% of the population. Time to switch gears.

Blake Masters—the Republican Senate candidate attempting to unseat former astronaut Mark Kelly in Arizona—quietly removed any mention of supporting the fetal personhood movement from his candidate website on Thursday."

In fact rewrote most everything once past the Oranganus suck ass-a-thon primary.

"…Masters’ campaign launched a new version of his website that included “re-writing or erasing five of his six positions,” according to NBC News.:

People need to remember and remind about his Primary positions. Don’t let him whitewash his Trumpitude.

Republican monster sub-category.

“Anti-abortion activist and Texas Right to Life’s former political director Luke Bowen was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of online solicitation of a minor, after a “sting operation” conducted on Aug. 3 by the Montgomery County Internet Crime Against Children division.” bolding mine. He was terminated the day of the arrest. Right to Life takes credit for all the draconian Texas laws denying women’s rights.

“Since Bowen’s arrest, Texas Right to Life has been scrubbing Bowen from its feeds, websites, and as much of the internet as it can reach.”

Huh, it makes sense to be anti-choice if you are a pedophile, more children in more desperate situations is more to prey upon.

I think it’s the whir of a ‘projector’.

“See? SEE? We TOLD you the government would start doing this!!11!!1!”

Heh!!

And no chance of the embarrassment of the child getting an abortion.

Petitions have been circulating in Michigan to put two proposals on the ballot. One involved voting rights, ensuring the availability of absentee ballots. The other involved putting the right to an abortion into the state constitution. The proposals received well over the number of signatures needed - some 600,000 people signed the abortion petition when only 400,000+ were required. This ensures both proposals will be on the November ballot, right?

Wrong. The Board of Canvassers, which consists of two Republicans and two Democrats, deadlocked on whether either of these should be included which apparently means they will not be. Guess who voted against them? Ah, you already know. The two Republican men. And guess why? Well, apparently they didn’t like how the abortion proposal was worded. And as for the voting rights proposal…well, the words were OK but the formatting was not to their liking. So despite the fact that the Board had approved the petitions before they were circulated and the Bureau of Elections recommending these proposals being included on the ballot, to they refused to certify them, meaning the public will not be allowed to vote on them.

I would have more respect for these fuckers if they had just said, “No, we don’t want people to vote and we don’t want women to have bodily autonomy because we are fascists.” At least that would be honest.

Lawsuits are being filed.

Any “helpful” judges around?

It is expected this will go to the MI Supreme Court. Not sure how that will turn out…

The Michigan Supreme Court is currently composed of 3 Republicans and 4 Democrats, so I’m optimistic.

Disease is good, apparently:
