Texas state Rep. Bryan Slaton (R) allegedly had an “inappropriate relationship” with an underage female intern, according to an internal complaint obtained by the Texas Tribune. Slaton, who is married, allegedly called the intern after 10 p.m. on Friday, March 31, and invited her to his Austin apartment. A source who works in the Capitol with direct knowledge of the incident told the Tribune that the intern was under 21 and that Slaton drank alcohol with her.
Slaton graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth and, according to his website, has worked as a youth minister at several Southern Baptist churches in Texas.
Because of course he did.
Slaton is, of course, vehemently opposed to drag shows and abortion. He introduced a bill, HB 4129, that would ban drag shows with minors present and has tweeted about drag shows leading to the grooming of children. He also loves to tweet the sentence: “We must protect Texas kids from sick adults who want to sexualize them.”
Of course we should. Unless he’s the one doing the grooming.

I no longer consider MAGA Republicans to be fellow citizens. Their loyalty is to a country that does not yet exist, Fascist America. They are doing everything in their power to turn the USA into FA. In FA, elections will no longer be held or when a Democrat wins an election, it will be considered illegitimate and the Republican candidate will be sworn into office. In FA, abortion and contraception will be outlawed. Books considered subversive will be burned, libraries will be shuttered, and the internet will be monitored. Anyone posting content that criticises the FA government will be incarcerated if not executed. Minorities and women will no longer be allowed to vote. Minority religions, with the possible exception of Judaism, will be banned. The US will partner with Russia and China to obliterate western democracies throughout the world.
To be honest, I think the world would be better off if anyone who voted for DJT in the past could be sent off to form a colony on Mars. They are more dangerous than Hitler, Stalin, and Mao combined.

Reminds me of a short story I read once. They set up a penal colony on the Moon, and space geeks everywhere started committing crimes so they could be sentenced to living on the Moon.

At this point it should be the first question a journalist asks when (R) morons introduce such legislation -: “who did you molest?” “What was the last time you committed a sex crime?”
They shouldn’t be able to get a word in edgewise. Everything they say should be drowned out.

Attack ads should be cued and ready to go: such and such introduced a bill against buggering little boys: republicans only do that when it weighs heavy on their mind: here are 3000 examples.

I mean, I like a good hyperbolic rant as much as the next person, but actually believing in the real-world possibility of such things is well into CT territory.
Let’s put it this way. There is not a misfortune you can imagine that, were it to actually come about for the whole MAGA cult, would not make me get up and dance like the Six Flags guy.
