The Republicans are swine cunts

Dissing a mod? But this is not the way of our people…

Damn, did I reveal the secret?

Yup. There should be someone pounding on your door any minute now. Are your affairs in order?

Now the affair is common knowledge?!? AARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!

[QUOTE=duffer]
Considering the level of competence and intelligence shown around here, I trust one of you defenders of the truth will be on the ballot in 2008? If Bush was smart enough to surround himself with the people that would be able to get him elected, I have to assume you few enlightened ones could do the same. Shit, if just the members in this thread that avoid bacon based on the Bush comparison got together you’d be an obvious shoe-in. (Or is it shoo-in? Never really occured to me to ask which is correct.)

If I may paraphrase Stalin here…

I don’t care who you vote for, I count the votes.

I meant to answer this earlier: It’s shoo-in.

And if you’d like to characterize my “posting style” in the Pit not by the vast majority of my posts which are calm and logically supported and continue to slander me in threads that have nothing to do with me…

Can’t stand the heat? Get out of the kitchen.

Oh, I can stand it.
I was merely pointing out that you are wrong.

Um, yeah. Our great war preznit, who instigated a war that was condemned by the Army War Colletge in 2004 as being unnecessary and a war of choice, based on evidence that never existed (CIA report and Downing Street memo) , and who recently - along with Cheney - tried to brand all nonbelievers as traitors, and who have smeared so many people. Now the moron is trying to pin it on his own closest people, as if he had nothing to do with it (since he can’t blame the intelligence community, the military, or anyone else). He IS a pussy. It’s HIS war. It was HIS decision. HE twisted the evidence so many times and in so many directions, that NO WAY was it anything less than deliberate. But he still refuses to admit guilt. Fucking momma’s boy pansy ass wimp.

Fucking momma’s boy pansy ass wimp.

No. Didn’t happen. One Prof. at the War College wrote an article (and also wrote other articles condemning the first gulf war,) This is something altogether completely different and not nearly as impressive as your hyperbolous claim.

Fair enough, I understood it had the “official blessings” but that does not negate what he had to say, and it does not negate anything else I have said or cited, does it? Either the professor was right or he wasn’t.

Continuation of pst 270 - where I cited Bush shifting blame to his “minions” …
I heard today that Rumsfeld is out, Lieberman is in, as the new Secretary of Defense. Is Cheney next?

What do you mean by “official blessings?” I am not aware of the War College endorsing his viewpoint. Are you?

Record, the person who wrote it was simply a visiting professor at the time. His opinion of the war is not an official stance of the war college, though of course he is free to say or write whatever he likes.

The War College is pretty close and the report and the reactions to it figured pretty prominently in the local news for a while. I think I can say that his represents the minority viewpoint.

He makes some interesting and controversial arguments, and I think that’s a good thing. For example, he suggests that a certain level of terrorism is inevitable in today’s global environment. And, we need to recognize it as such rather than trying fruitlessly to eradicate it.

He also wrote a highly critical essay on the war in Iraq and another similarly critical report on Vietnam.

Record’s field is Strategic Studies. I am under the impression that his is a minority and dissenting viewpoint to the opinion of the War College faculty in general. As such characterizing his report as representing a consensus or United viewpoint of the War College is grossly innacurate.

I haven’t tired to negate it, because we haven’t really talked about what it actually said. To do so, we’d have to read it.

What you’ve cited is interesting gossip from unnamed sources re: Bush and Cheney’s relationship (and Barbara being pissed off.) I’m not sure what to make of it, or how to credit it.

Having not read the report, I don’t know.

I’ve just been surprised that the provenance of the report has been so mischaracterized in the news.

This should give you a fair view of the provenance of the report:

huh?

Double huh?

I would hope that Lieberman has enough loyalty to the party to not give up a Senate seat which would be filled by a Republican governor.

OK, it was just one professor’s personal opinion. I withdraw the claim that it had War College approval, sanction or participation.
