This isn’t my thread.
I’ll recount the events:
Farmer made a post about his apparent dislike for Democrats or Democratic ideas (although I don’t speak for him, this is how I see it).
hardcore used this to conclude that all Republicans are “hateful”.
I pointed out the fallacy in that notion, in that if you wanted to base a party’s disposition on what is said on the SDMB, then the Democratic party would most certainly be more hate-filled, showing that it’s idiotic to make such claims based on a message-board thread.
Now, what is unclear? Will you be needing me to clarify anything else?
Note also that hardcore immediately labeled me as “one of them hate-filled Republicans” simply because I didn’t agree with him.
Actually, SPOOFE my remarks are based on how mean and nasty some can be when they may have won. I would expect a bit of teeth-gnashing and frustration-venting from the losers, but usually the winners try to be sportsmanlike. To see such vitriol even when you win is stunning.
Fortunately, I don’t think the entire Republican party spirit is embodied by you and Farmer, thank goodness.
And, thankfully, I know that the general Democratic party intelligence isn’t embodied by you. Methinks you need to learn how to read, as I never mentioned in this thread that I was Republican. Nor did I mention that I agreed with Farmer. Nor did anyone aside from yourself mention anything about “winning” or “losing” (in fact, Farmer made it clear that he didn’t know who won or lost when he said “I know the votes haven’t been counted yet”)

Spoofe: there is not one single “fuck/hate the GOP” thread here. There is a “fuck nader” thread- which is hateful, i will admit, and mostly by Demos. There is a thread that bitches that they will hate it if Bush wins- but hardly any “Bush- hating” going on. Most Demos i know despise Gov Bushes political viewpoints- but NOT the man himself. I personally think “Gov W” is an OK guy- but not for President.
If your point was “I, Hardcore, know not of what I speak”, then yes, I have. However, if your point is “Republicans are hateful”, then nothing has been proven, as I am neither Republican, nor do I see anything that I said in this thread that is hateful. Yes, I did insult you. If not, then kindly explain to me how my showing you that your opinions have no basis in reality is “hateful”. I truly am curious as to why you stereotype a large group of people based on a single example.
If you will take the time to read instead of spewing froth you will note that I responded to the OP and the title, which is quite hateful. Note also that I did not state that the Republicans actually were hateful, just that incidents like this can cause reasonable people to reach such a conclusion.

Reasonable people reach conclusions about a vast, wide-reaching group’s entire disposition based on the comments of a single person? By that logic, all racists, bigots, sexists, and discriminators are “reasonable”.
Face it, you came in here wanting to start a “Demo vs. Repub” fight where none exists. Whatever views Farmer has, they’re hardly shared by the majority. Perhaps you need to realize that before you start lecturing others on “hate”.
I’ve already addressed this. This thread has nothing to do with “Winning” or “Losing”, since, at the time of this thread’s OP writing, Farmer didn’t know who WAS the winner or loser. As such, you mentioning “winning graciously” has no merit.
In addition, you have no idea what political views I have, as I expressed none. You have no idea who I voted for, as I did not say. So where do you get off assuming that I’m the “opposition” simply because I didn’t jump on your “hey, let’s flame the conservative?” bandwagon?
Farmer’s OP was stupid and very ungracious.
And Hardcore’s response was a gross overreaction. Why not slam Farmer for being the ungracious boob that he is, instead of immediately slamming all Republicans? Where does “party of Hate” come into this? This is just ONE Republican, ONE anti-Demo thread. Come on. A little hasty, there.
