Happy Birthday, Vorlon!

DBAs in India who don’t know about birthdays.
First weekend of Faire has been survived. Day one was nasty hot and a few patrons succumbed to the effects of too much heat, too much ale and too little water. Day two was chilly and damp (we call it “Fine English weather!”) after raining from 7:30 - 9:00 AM. If only we could have mixed the two days together and gotten a nice average.
Fortunately, the weather gods seem to be willing to make it up to us and this weekend is supposed to be mid-70s, dry and partly cloudy, which suits us just fine.
Still a bit on edge about today’s spinal encounter. My docs’ office put out an email blast that they have never used products from the pharmacy that put out spinal meds with an extra dose of fungus, but still, it’s a bit unsettling to be having such a procedure in the midst of people getting fatal infections from similar injections.
Tell me about it.
Happy Alien Day!!
Kanga, I find when I get in a poopy mood, getting out in the fresh air and taking a walk seems to help a lot. Especially if I can clear my mind of whatever might be bugging me and fill it with whatever I see as I walk. It’s free, too! Well, unless you walk too close to an ice cream parlor… Then again, ice cream has proven medicinal powers.
Dear, with all the shit with which you have put up, to say you struggle with your mood I reply “you come by it honestly!”
For were I you I would most certainly have burned out a long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long time ago.
Or even earlier.
Do what ya gotta do and keep doing what you’re doing. You’re okay!
Tao, where the heck to you live that it’s over a hunnert degrees??? Satan called and wants his weather back.
This just in, from the Freakier Than Hell Department:
My cell phone, sitting 6 inches from my right hand and mouse AND completely untouched, called my office phone.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Did ya think I’d forgotten to post today? 'Tis as I post a drizzly and foggy 62 degrees Amurrkin with a predicted high of 79 and sunny later in the day.
I got up and got out this mornin’ to go meet OYKW for brekkie at Waffle House cause he had a gnawin’ and a cravin’ again. Today I had cheesey aigs, bacon, grits and raisin toast with apple butter. Much numminess ensued.
Irk is bein’ it’s irksome self today. It’s almost ten in the a.m. and I feel like I’ve been here twelve hours. Oy!
gigity have fun at the zoo today. Sounds like you at least got a good dindin out of it all.
And now this…

Happy Birthday, **Alien!! **(What kind of calendar do you use, anyway…?)
**Phouka **-- what **2gig **said; you’re holding up remarkably well! It’s not paranoia if they’re really out to get you, and it’s not depression when life really sucks
Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. I know I am missing personally thanking someone!
Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Alien!!!
I am feeling like total crap today. I have a mid term tomorrow I haven’t started studying for. I can’t focus on anything because my head feels all foggy from congestion and stress. I screwed up a case at work, and now a potential client is mad at me because I can’t go with the original rates I quoted her due to the fact she failed to disclose all her needs and we have to up the rates to accommodate them. Now she is threatening to go with someone else unless we go back to the original rates. I CAN’T DO THAT! I have no authority to lower the rates, we would lose money and so would the bank.
Plus, I am realizing how much money this new baby is going to cost. We need a new crib, car seat, stroller, high chair, and daycare. My current day care will not take children under 15 mo, and I am freaking out. I don’t want to pull my twins out of their daycare because they love it. I can keep the baby with me at home ONLY if I am not traveling for work, and only for 12 weeks. And where would I put the baby then? I am the only one working right now because my hubs is in school and wasn’t working enough during school to make it worth our while. I feel like curling up in a ball and just sleeping forever. This sucks and I don’t know what to do.
Oh, and I just thought of another one. We have to get a bigger car. My current car is a KIA and will not be able to fit two booster seats and an infant seat in the back. How the F*%K are we going to afford getting a different car???
OK, **Apes **- deep cleansing breath… and another…
Here’s something you know and are forgetting - you don’t have to solve all the problems right now. You’ve got time. Deal with each one in turn and it’ll be manageable.
What are the chances of borrowing some of the items you need? On your list, I’d say the car seat is the only one you might want to get new - everything else can be gently used. Check thrift stores and Craigslist and ask friends and relatives.
You’ve got time to consider the daycare issue, too. Is a sitter or a nanny an option? Does a neighbor do in-home daycare?
As for the car - does it have a trunk? All you need is to wrap one of the kids in bubblewrap and… OK, maybe not…
Seriously, don’t let it overwhelm you. Deal with the issues one at a time. And if all else fails, move in with **swampy **- I just know he’d love to take care of the lot of you!
Happy birthday, Alien!
{Phouka}
Apes, listen to Moooom. You’ve had rugrats before, and still; you know how overwhelming it can seem, and you know that it works out eventually; will keep fingers crossed for you.
My dream this morning was that MrTao was being called up as a substitute for the football team, and the Superbowl was tomorrow so he had to get a move-on! I remember thinking 'Cool, now when people ask where I live, they might recognize it ‘cause we’re gonna win
the Superbowl!’
I live in the Imperial Valley, So. Cal, right at the Mexican border. Mexicali is about 6 miles due south, if that helps. Did you know the sister city on the US side is called Calexico? And now you know. I swear, until I moved here and found that out, I never made the 'Mexico+California = Mexicali connection, lol. Also, it’s finally getting cooler; should be in 80s-90s this week; I am shocked!
Today is ultra-sound day, to see if there’s any reason for my apparantly unusually thickened uterine lining. Hello! I’m nearly 46, never had a child, my periods are starting to go a little haywire for the first time in my life…can we say ‘perimenopause?’ But I guess perimenopause is just a last-resort catch-all term for ‘nothing’s wrong, you’re just getting old’, so they want to rule out everything else first. I know it’s fine; so tempted to just skip the whole thing, argh. That’s a co-pay we could really use in the gas tank right now.
Speaking of which…WTF? Gas is almost 5 a gallon here now This hurts.
Also, playing the rainymood page constantly shall perhaps have an effect on our weather; we’re supposed to get storms all day tomorrow, yay!! Looking very forward to it, though I am sure the dog is going to be ‘WTF IS THIS SHIT’ when I try to convince him that he needs to go pee OUT THERE.
Tao does your dog give you the “If you think it’s so great you go pee in the rain” look? Sending good thoughts re the test.
Apes actually MOOOOOOM has a bigger house. She could reconvert her basement into your own private apartment. Plus also, what everybody else said, one step at a time. You can do this.
I’ve had N.O.L. a cheesesteak from home. 'Twas good. Tonight is ham 'n bean soup with cornbread by request. It’s kinda coolish out so it should be just right.
gigity did you battle your way through the amassed hordes and get your story?
Special1 it’s always better when you get a good dindin out of it.
Ok, I suppose I should get back to irk. Sigh.
Don’t know, he hasn’t seen rain yet! We’ve only had him a couple months, and, well…rain just doesn’t happen here that often, hehe. We’ll see what happens tomorrow
I like the rain anyway, but it helps me control the cats. I let them out and they just hang under the eaves and don’t try to sneak under the fence, 'cause that would mean getting WET, eww! Should see the looks they give the dog when he has a bath; they sniff him for hours afterwards and are NICE to him, lol. They feel sorry for him!
Thanks everyone! Just ignore most of my posts from now on, and blame it on the hormones. I actually cried today because a friend of mine called and said the laptop I sent to him to work on was sent with the wrong charging cable, and I could have sworn I sent the right one because I don’t have any other laptop cables in the house. I CRIED? WTF?
Yes. Yes, it is.
Well, what’d it have to say?
