The road not taken, a MMP

Currently waiting patiently for another 25 mins to check in for my flights to the UK tomorrow. Paitiently…yeah thats it.

I have tidied up all my loose ends at work and started another project off. I am soooooo done with work. I need this vacation.

Then I get to go home and pack. Oh get my hair cut at 3.30. Yes I am sneaking out early

gigity did you battle your way through the amassed hordes and get your story?

I was fortunate enough to be the truck op which meant my job was to keep our POS sat truck running. I scraped the rear bumper off moving the truck an hour ago. I did stop to grab the pieces.

I did shoot some video of the fine gentleman in question when they walked him out if the courthouse. Other than that I am pure tech today. It’s going to be a long ride home tonight.

Since I answered by speakerphone, I got the screaming electronic feedback. Yee-ouch.

Aww dang gigity I was lookin’ forward to seein’ your smilin’ face. Still it had to be sorta ummm… interestin’ bein’ there.

In other news, why is it not go home from irk time yet! I say there’s sump’n wrong with the clock.

Home, with a happy spousal unit. A bunch of stuff that he’d ordered was delivered today. And stoopit UPS just left the boxes against the garage door in full view of the street. Ten feet to the left is our covered porch - after all, it’s been drizzley all day. Stoopit UPS! We hates them!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, he’s in the garage unpacking his new toys. Tomorrow the mill is being delivered to work and we’ll have to take our truck and trailer to haul it home - probably Thursday. But he’s not getting all the goodies - I’ve got a mega-huge box of yarn coming via FedEx - it should be here by the end of the week, so yay for me!!

Not sure what we’ll be doing for supper - something quick and easy, I’m guessing. I don’t care. I’m home and in sweats, so I’m comfy. Yay for me again!!

Is it crunchable? It is tasty?

I beg your pardon, Apes. I think I spilled some of my brain on yours. So sorry!

And thank you, guys. Just getting a verbal hug and some validation makes it much, much better.

You know what’s really sad? My younger brother is apparently dating someone. How do I know this? Because the last three weekends running, he’s had plans when I called him to do our normal get together. And, instead of saying “Me and Vader are going to bop some field mice on their heads,” he says “I have plans with a friend.” >sigh< I’m very happy for him. Honest. But, phoukabro and I are actually good friends, and spending time with him is a big slice of my social life. Now it seems I will have to develop some other outlets.

Haha, it’s ok phoukie!

I wish my little bro was dating someone! Heck he might be, we never find out until it is over anyway. He will probably get married someday and we won’t find out until after. He is so secretive when it comes to his personal life outside of the family. I love him to pieces anyway

P.S. My LL has been asking for meatloaf for the past 5 days for dinner, so I was gonna make some tonight. Any recipes I should try? Nothing spicy or with veggie chunks in it, I know they wouldn’t eat it if I did that, LOL.

Apes I make meatloaf with a combo of ground beast and sausage so I’m probably not much help.

Home from irk and full from soup and cornbread. NUMMY!!! I done good, I did. Tomorrow we shall dine upon roasted chikin, green beans and smashed N.O.T. cause of my cookathon on Monday. Go Me Again!

Other than that I’s tahrd and gonna be a veggie myself.

Blaming hormones makes sense to me.

Judging by how incredibly annoying I’m finding a lot of things that normally wouldn’t even register on me, I’m PMSing.

My version of meatloaf is pretty basic: ground beef, egg, tomato sauce, oatmeal (think Quaker Oats or similar), seasonings of choice (my usual includes onion soup mix, cheese is pretty frequent too).

I did a quick supper - I took a teriyaki noodle side dish and tossed in some fake crab and green peas. It was not bad, and it was filling, so there’s that. I plan to knit the night away.

**Apes **- my meatloaf is ground beef, seasoned breadcrumbs, an egg or two (depending on how much meat), minced onions, a few drops of tabasco, some ketchup or BBQ sauce, and some garlic powder. I always cook it on a rack to allow the grease to drip away. No specifics in the recipe because I don’t know how much of anything I use - it’s a throw-together.

I want dessert. We don’t have dessert. It’s so difficult being me… <sigh>

Well, it knew your were sitting at your desk & therefore thought it was a good time to call ???
Tugig Do you have a large PSU alumni population in your area? I’m wondering why a Merrylande station thought they needed their own reporters there for this instead of taking a feed from one of the multitude of more local news organizations. With just the PA-based stations, you could’ve probably had a mid-sized convention.

Doc is done; just a couple of small polyps, and since the doc <who was very cool, btw, and explained everything, acted like it was HIS first time he’d done an ultrasound rather than mine, lol> was totally unconcerned, didn’t recommend any real course of action except to keep this in the back of my mind if I end up having any other concerns down there in the future, I do believe I am going to cancel my appt. with the clinic that is scheduled to tell me the results of the ultrasound. Why pay 50 bucks to find out what I already know? I even have the pictures

In other news: Southwest Airlines is having a 40 percent reduction in fares for flights between Nov 28 and Dec. 12…so I am gonna go home and visit for a week. The 270 round trip price is great, plus I have a 100 dollar discount to use up soon, so now it’s irresistable. They also have the same reduction for flights in January-Feb, so if you’re planning a trip somewhere soon anyway, go take a look NOW; the flights must be booked by the end of Thursday.

Dinner right now is Lays Flaming Hot potato chips, one of my weaknesses; I am indulging. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ladies and gentlemen (and mumpers, too :stuck_out_tongue: ),

I am tired. So can someone please tell me why I am still awake? Speaking of beds, I’ve pretty much decided that a new bed is in order. I found one at Sam’s tonight for $260 which I thought was pretty reasonable so the next time my van is empty, I’ll probably go get it. I thought I could do without, but I’ve really been so tired lately with not much of any other explanation. I think it’s time to do it.

Doggio, how’s your foot and your saucy wenches?

Happy Birthday Alien!!!

{{{{{Roo}}}}}
Yay for lack of big polyps, Tao!!!

The foot only hurts a little. The wenches are quite saucy. One is German and a hockey fan.

This is answered in three parts:

First, to go to a big event like this is the industry equivalent of dick wagging. We do it because it makes us look big. Of the four local news ops in DC, two of us went (that I saw).

Two, the other photog that went up with us and who did most of the shooting & editing calls State College his second home, and knows it better than most locals. He gives us a decisive advantage when covering news in that area, and coupled with the excellent reporter we had it was good reporting. We did a nice job.

Finally, the biggest reason we went was though it seems we are but merely a local CBS affiliate, we are also a major station owned by Gannett (publisher of many newspapers including USA Today). In fact they own 23 television stations, so we provided content to roughly 10 news operations today. Whenever there are big news events Gannett pools it’s resources - we sent people to Aurora, CO a few months ago to help KUSA, we sent people to Florida & the Gulf during the Republican Convention / Hurricane, etc. We got a lot of help from others during the blizzards two years ago. Gannett gets a lot of milage from a crew like us on a trip to a major story.

So that sums up the reasons we went. We had a good time.

But rest assured that as I flake out here in my own home, having left State College around 6:30 and arrived home at midnight with a stop at the station to drop off the battered sat truck, I done be a tired puppy, and I am not interested in any more trips anytime soon…

Awake too early today - but just as well. Today is my fancy-schmancy luncheon, but before that, I’m having much attention paid to my hair by professionals. Yes, there’ll be pictures of my new coiffeur and ensemble.

Up, caffeinated, off to irk.

Good morning! A pretty day is promised, so I opened some of the windows at home before we left. And that’s pretty much it. Another day in paradise.

**tugig **- will you get to cover the power boat show in Annapolis this weekend?? Here’s an angle for you - seeing the show thru the eyes of a couple who, for years, owned sailboats, but now… Never mind - even to me it sounds lame. :stuck_out_tongue:

Happy Wednesday! Send chocolate!!
