“We don’t need no water, let the mother ****** burn!”
Yup. Early this morning/late last night, my beloved McDonalds caught on fire. Me and Janet were in the back office doing end of the month inventory-uggh-and the alarms started going off. So we run up front, to see smoke pouring out of the air vents. There was a fire in the ceiling ducts. Apparently this happened one day last week, and New England came out, supposedly fixed it, and went off on their merry little way. Well, there’s still something up there burning, and the fire chief wasn’t too happy with us for having to come out again for the same problem. So either we get those ducts cleaned out like, today, or he reports us to the Board of Health, and they shut us down. It’s a pleasant thought. The last McDonalds I worked at got shut down by BOH…I think I’m a bad luck charm…
Last night was supposedly Janet’s last day before her sabattical. After 10 years with the company, they give you a 2 month paid vacation. Pretty sweet. Hers started off a really crappy profit report for the end of month, and a fire. Even better, it just happened that they were repainting the lines in the parking lot last night. So while the building’s engulped in smoke, there’s this guy and his sister out trying to paint “THANK YOU” onto the drive thru pad. He was pretty stupid…I don’t think he was catching on that the place was on fire, and that the parking lot wasn’t a big concern…
So eventually the openers showed up, and me and Mark flirted for a while. All in good fun. And, at 6:45 am, I finally made my way home. I got there just in time to see my mom drive off for work, and then I gave Sara a ride to school so she could hear the story. Long day it’ll be today…
